I have found that stimulants do affect fillers and make them dissolve quicker (the HA type fillers) just like my patients who exercise and diet who lose fillers more quickly. Best, Dr. Emer.
Longevity of Juvederm and other fillers is highly variable depending on location injected, technique, volume used, and patients. Some patients metabolize the filler more quickly. Although these tend to be those that are very thin, it is not always the case. There are no studies to answer the questions; most likely it will not effect the filler but there is no data to back that up.
This is an excellent question to which there is no definitive answer. In general, I tell my patients that I inject anything into, that conditions that increase your metabolism can often increase the absorption of that product. Also the other factor is the individual factor...each patient is different and therefore should also be taken in to account. Unfortunately, you may have to try to see if this is the case for you. Sorry that there is no definitive answer to your question. I hope this helps.ThanksDr VasishtSouth Shore Plastic Surgery
Hello, I have found that Filler's and Botox will vary patient to patient for longevity. It is unknown the reasons. I do have a few patients that metabolize faster than others. An area of movement seems to metabolize faster than other areas such as the lips. I hope this helps.
I am not aware of weight loss pills causing a faster metabolism of lip filler. The mouth area does tend to metabolize it faster due to movement.
The weight loss pills will probably not make the juvederm metabolize faster. If there is a problem area of swelling, hyaluronidase can dissolve it rapidly.
It has not been shown that weight loss pills increase metabolism of HA fillers but this is a very generic question and there are many pharmacologic agents and some may do that but it has not been studied with scientific rigor.Dr Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
This may be scar tissue and would need steroid/5FU injection. you may have a facial tract where the filler is migrating through. Id suggest speaking to a expert injector. Best, Dr. Emer.
At day 9 with this look, I truely believe it needs to be dissolved. Sorry to break the news. Firstly ULTRA PLUS is not the best in the Juvederm range for this area. If you do have access to VOLBELLA, its the better choice. If not, Restylane. Secondly, the filler should be placed in the deep...
It appears as if you either bit your lip or injured it in some way but the product will not leak out. Please consult an expert for the best cosmetic results. Best, Dr. Green
