When should I be unable to move my eyebrows after Botox?

Hello. I had my first Botox injection on my forehead and nose. It was mainly due to my excess sweating on the face but also for my brows to raise a bit. However, it was done yesterday and I can still move my brows easily etc. When should it work and I should start to be unable to move my brows?

Most patients will begin to see the effects of Botox about 5-7 days after injection, and it usually takes around 14 days to see the maximal effect. If you still are not seeing the result you desire after two weeks, contact your injector to schedule a follow up appointment to see if you need a touch-up. Always seek to have injections performed by an expert physician injector in order to achieve the best results with the lowest risk for complications.

Botox can take 3-5 days for it to work though we will often wait a week before we do any adjustments.  However, if done properly there should be slight movement of the eyebrows without the heaviness.

Dear wr0953,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Botox usually takes  7 days to see full effect. It may take as little as 2 days for some people to start seeing a slight change. If you only had it yesterday, don't worry, it's not working yet. Ideally you want to keep some movement to your eyebrows for a natural look. I hope by the time you see this answer you start to have some effects from you Botox and enjoy your results.

Thank you for your questions, and it will happen soon. Botox will typically begin to "kick in" after 4-7 days, but some may see results earlier. The full effect is usually seen after 7-10 days so two weeks after your injections is a great time for a follow-up with your injector if you are not getting the results you desire. Additional injections may be given at 2 weeks if more correction is desired/needed. Botox typically lasts ~3months, and after that it begins to slowly wear off. Best wishes.
