I have a referral to get a breast reduction through AHS. I am a 34DDD and the doctor I saw during my consultation told me that I would be losing half of my boob, then said I would essentially be left with nothing and look unproportionate (although she said I am petite). I’m really confused by this. She told me to put 300g of rice into a bag and compare that to my boobs. I just don’t know if it’s too much. I’d be happy being a B, ideally a C, but don’t want to be left with nothing :/
Answer: Is 300g too much to remove? Hello @Generous978904, thank you for your question. When performing a breast reduction, the amount of breast tissue that the patient has must be taken into account. This is in order to achieve the final objective, which is to give harmony and uniformity to the breasts. During a breast reduction, the amount of tissue removed does not always match in both breasts. This is because the amount is subject to what can be found during the surgical process. For more information and recommendations, it is prudent to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez

CONTACT NOW Answer: 300g Thanks for your question! I do not think that you would be left with "nothing". I think you could still have a cute shape and size. Perhaps you should get a second opinion to feel a bit more comfortable. Good luck!

Answer: Candidacy for breast reduction Hi and welcome to our forum!Breast reduction is both cosmetic and functional, as the procedure improves appearance and often alleviates neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, bra strap grooving, and chronic rashes beneath the breasts due to their added weight. The reduction procedure is most often performed to regain proper body proportion. From your photos, I note that your breasts are disproportionately large with moderate sag. Cup size is an extremely inaccurate measurement of breast tissue as there is no standardization of bra size by the bra manufacturers....and so many people are wearing poorly fitted bras. However, to provide an idea:A cup…~~235 gB cup…~~450 gC cup…~~530 gD cup…~~760 gE cup…~~1005 gF cup…~~1180 gAssuming that a D+++ is at least half way between a D and an E cup, 1005-760= 245 245/2=122.5760 + 122.5= 882 grams total breast weightTo be a "C", 882-530=350 grams to be removedTo be a "B", 882-450=432 grams to be removedThis appears to put you within an acceptable range if they require 300 grams of tissue to be removed. If your insurance carrier utilizes the Schnur scale, we would need your height and weight to calculate candidacy. You can find the scale on the internet. You appear to be a satisfactory candidate....Best wishes...

Answer: Bellesoma Method The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. This technique is not covered by insurance. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast reduction You are a good candidate for reduction and 300 grams off each side will not leave you too small. Don’t like what your surgeon told you? Get another opinion
