How soon can I get a breast reduction surgery after a thyroidectomy?

Question

I will be undergoing a procedure soon - Thyroidectomy. How soon will I be able to have a breast reduction surgery? Also once I have my breast reduction surgery I will need to travel by air, how soon can this happen after my surgery? Thanks

Before you proceed with your breast reduction I would advise making sure you are in the best overall health possible - I would anticipate that this will take around 3 months after your thyroidectomy, giving you enough time to recover form your previous surgery and for you to be stable on any new medication that you may need to start. 
The UK Civil Aviation Authority advise that it is appropriate to fly from 10 days after this kind of surgery, but ideally you would want your wounds to have completely healed and be fully recovered - I would typically advise 4-6 weeks.

Generally it is advisable to wait minimum 3 months between two general anaesthetics, for your specific operation, your surgeon will guide you when its safe to undergo further operation in light of your oral medications you might be starting post surgery.
