I'd like to get 250-290cc anatomical cohesive gel implants. I don't want them to be wide or tall. My ribcage is 30" and I'm 5'3.
Answer: High profile implants - what are they? High profile implants are not implants that add volume up high. High profile means that when an implant is placed on a table, it sticks up high. When such an implant is placed in a patient, a high profile implant projects outward/forward more than a moderate profile. In general terms, a higher profile implant looks more bubbly and more fake than a moderate profile implant. That doesn't mean that you can't get nice results with high profile implants, however. Best thing is to see a board certified plastic surgeon and get a proper assessment, measurements, and then discuss with them what are your goals. We like it when patients bring pictures of breasts (ideally naked, head on view) to show us what results they want to achieve (biking/clothes and angle views are not very helpful)

Answer: Breast augmentation #breastimplants #BBA #salineimplants #siliconeimplants Dear mearleThank you for your question! The type, size and shape of implant can be a difficult choice. The Anatomic, cohesive gel implants work well on certain breast shapes and volumes but they are more firm than Cohesive non anatomic implants. They also have a textured surface - which is an implant that works better in someone with fuller breasts. Round smooth implants can give excellent results in most women, whether they are placed under the muscle fascia or under the muscle itself. With Warm RegardsTrevor M Born MD

Answer: High profile implants tend to look more "augmented" and less natural In general, hight profile implants result in increased projection of the breast. This will result in a more artificial or "augmented" look. If a patient stresses to me that they want a natural look then I will use a less projecting implant such as a moderate plus or moderate profile. However, the patient who wants to look natural must also desire a implant volume that is consistent with that goal. If a thin patient wants a large implant size, but wants to be "natural", then something has to give because that just isn't possible. Preoperate education and discussions with the plastic surgeon are critical to make sure expectations are met.

Answer: Can high profile implants be used for small women who are looking for a natural look? Generally speaking, the higher profile implants tend to look more full in the upper breast. Many surgeons use intraoperative sizers during the procedure to assess the shape of the breast with the implant. You should discuss your goals and show pictures to your surgeon so the he/she can match the implant size and style to your desired shape.

Answer: Can high profile implants be used for small women who are looking for a natural look? Thank you for the question. Yes, it is possible (generally speaking) that the use of high-profile breast implants can achieve a petite woman's goal of “natural” looking breasts after breast surgery ( whether or not it would be the appropriate breast implant for you would require careful preoperative and intraoperative evaluation). In other words, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice (regarding specific breast implant size/profile) to be truly helpful. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery (regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. In bra sizers can be useful communication tools also. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C cup" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging may be very helpful during the communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery ( after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers). I hope this, and the attached link (dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns), helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
