Best way to remove fat along jawline on young patient? Facial liposuction or lasers?

I have a lot of extra fat around my jawline that gives me the appearance of a square jaw even though my actual jawbone is much smaller. I am aspiring to have more of the V shape popular in Korea. Is facial liposuction or lasers an option to remove fat along the jawline?

Neck liposuction is a great option for patients with good skin elasticity and excess fat in the neck and around the jawline. This will remove excess fat and stimulate the skin to contract over time which will improve angulation and definition along the jawline. I recommend seeing an expert for a consultation. I hope this helps!

Removing fat along the jawline or under the chin can significantly alter proportion and the aesthetic of the lower face and neck. Liposuction is the most direct way of doing this and gives the most immediate results. Additionally, there is a product which is capable of dissolving fat from an injection. The brand name of this is Belkyra, also known as Kybella.
There are several technologies that claim the ability to reduce fat, however many of these are not effective. I do not support the use of lasers for fat reduction as I do not believe the clinical evidence is adequate to support it’s us. Other technologies that use cold to reduce fat such as Cool Sculpt are effective, though difficult to apply to limited areas on the face.

Based on your information you could be a good candidate for chin liposuction, 
Chin liposuction may be an option, it makes you look younger and more 
attractive with a sharp jawline , and better facial proportions.

It is hard to answer your question for certain without photos but I can give you some advice based on my experience.Fat under the jaw and chin is easily removed with liposuction.  This can be done through a small incision under the chin.  Contouring of the cheeks is best done with a buccal lipectomy, which removed cheek fat through a small incision inside the mouth.  Liposuction cannot be done on the face because there are too many important nerves that are at risk.I also perform procedures to contour the jawline by slimming the jaw bone and chin bone.  This  V line surgery is what was made popular in Korea.  What each patient needs varies by what is causing the face to appear full (fat, muscle, or bone). I see many patients from out of town, as there are not many doctors in the US that perform the Vline surgery and bone contouring.Best of luckDr Rodman

I specialize in jaw contouring, both in bone contouring and liposuction. Fat around certain parts of the jaw can be suctioned. the upper jaw and cheeks cannot be liposuctioned due to presence of some important nerves. A consultation is the best way to get all the information you need.

Photos are required to give you any meaningful suggestions. Liposuction is commonly done to try to enhance the definition of the jawline. Fillers like Radiesse can also be used to simulate more bony prominence. Some patients have excess fat in the buccal fat pads leading to a more rounded facial shape, and removal of the pads may be helpful. Consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon or ENT facial plastic surgeon is appropriate in order for you to be examined and tailored suggestions made. A surgical simulation tool (we use Crisalix) can also aid in educating patients on potential changes with different maneuvers.

It is hard to discuss the best treatment for you without a high resolution photograph attached to your question, neck lipo suction to remove neck fat is an option. However, another alternative that is not surgical, would be Kybella injections, which destroy fat deposits below the chin, for example.
