Is dental work one month after fillers OK? A lot of pressure on treated areas.

Question

I had fillers done on Nov 9th. Voluma in cheeks, chin & jawline and restylane under eyes. Dec 7th I went to dentist and he and the hygienist both were applying a lot of pressure on the areas treated but they said they had to inorder to get the work done. I just wanted to make certain that after almost a month my fillers should be set and not move, even with all that pressure for 3 hours. I’m nervous because I am sore on my chin and jawline, both areas treated with filler. The visit was 3 hours.

I tell people to wait 4 weeks, but to use antibiotics before and after the dental work just to prevent any inflammatory reactions or biofilms.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  After four weeks your fillers have settled and become incorporated into the surrounding tissues, so you need not worry about the pressure applied during your dental work.  Hope this helps.

That sounds like an ordeal, hope you are feeling better.  You should be completely fine, the areas can be tender months after injection when you push on them directly, but the product should not be moving, it should be integrated into your tissue.
