Voluma shouldn’t move or be displaced by aerobic exercise — particularly not almost a day after treatment. It’s not easily displaced. The 24-hour warning is a better-safe-than-sorry recommendation, but is not based on hard science or vast (if any) experience. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist for your Voluma rejuvenation will get you the best results.
Hi mrseternaldancer. I would encourage you to wait the 24 hours after any filler including Voluma injections. Exercise increases the heart rate which could lead to bruising. If you cannot avoid this because of your job, I would recommend you take something like Arnica Montana capsules prior to your injection to help decrease the risk of bruising. Thanks and best of luck, Dr. Thomas Kaniff
Thank you for sharing your question. After 19 hours you should be fine to teach Zumba as the risk of early activity is an increase in tissue swelling and possibly bruising. It would be very difficult for the filler to move or become displaced. Hope this helps.
In my opinion, it would be fine to exercise less than 24 hours after a Voluma treatment. I do not believe that exercise would cause the filler to move or affect your results in any way.
Hi and thank you for your question! While we generally recommend patients to allow 24 hours following any filler treatments and avoid strenuous exercise in that period, there is really no hard science on that and you should be fine. Just make sure to stay well hydrated. Movement of filler is extremely rare and shouldn't happen with normal body movements. I hope it helps and good luck!
It is highly recommended not to excercise heavily for 24 hours after facial fillers because of risks of bruising. The same goes for facial massage or anything that involves heavy sweating.
Thank you for your question. It's probably fine to exercise after Voluma. The reason why most people do not advise it is because it can raise blood pressure, and lead to an increase in bruising and swelling. If you have to work, you have to work - just realize that you may be more bruised and swollen because of it. Best of luck!
Sculptra needs to be reconstituted (this is not dilution), as otherwise you can’t inject the powder it comes in. Voluma is different, as it already comes in an injectable form, and therefore I do not dilute Voluma. It is already a perfect consistency for adding volume to the face. If I ne...
Thank you for sharing your question and I am sorry that your results have not been what you anticipated. You will likely start to see a decrease in your cheeks around the 1-1.5 year mark. If this is too long I would urge you to have the material dissolved as this is quite safe for you and you...
There shouldn’t be any interaction between your eczema and Voluma, so long as you receive treatment when you are not in an active phase of the disease. Ideally, the dermatologist who is rejuvenating your face with Voluma is the same one who is treating your eczema. If not, be sure to consult a b...
Thank you for sharing your question. Though Voluma can be injected into the buccal fat pad it is not the ideal filler for this use as it has no underlying bony skeleton from which to maximize its effects as when placed into the temples, jawline, chin, and cheeks. As a result I would ad...
Thank you for sharing your question. Because this is a change in your recovery I would visit your injector for an in-person exam. Though likely the sensation is the filler maturing and softening other possibilities need to be ruled out. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your question and photograph and I am sorry to hear of your lip bump. I would first verify with your injector that Voluma was used instead of the thinner fillers with similar names - Vollure and Volbella. These are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers better suited to filling in...
