I used to be teased when I was younger by these 2 guys in my class. They would call me fat nose and say my nose is really wide. As I got older they stopped so I don't know if they got in trouble or if I finally grew into my nose. But I've been curious and wanted to ask professionals. So what's your opinion
Answer: Nose big and wide `You should be the one deciding if it's too big or too wide for your face. If you think so and would like surgery to reduce the width and size, then rhinoplasty is an option for you. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: Is my nose too big or wide for my face? No one ever "needs" a rhinoplasty. It is an elective procedure and only you can determine if your nasal features concern you enough to do something about improving the cosmetic appearance of your nose and whether it would be worthwhile. Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Additional information about the procedure will help you decide if it is a procedure that you want to pursue. Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty candidate A rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish narrowing the bridge line, narrowing the tip, and narrowing wide nostrils. To narrow the bridgeline requires osteotomies placed in the nasal bones which also gives more sidewall definition. The tip of the nose can be narrowed as well with suture techniques and conservative cartilage removal applied to the nasal to cartilages. When the nostrils are wide, an alar-plasty is performed. For more information and many examples of narrowing a wide nose with closed rhinoplasty, please see the link and the video below
