Would I be able to receive a breast augmentation if I have Ankylosing Spondylitis? I am not currently taking any routine medications for treatment at this time. Just concerned of possible recovery risks or increased risk of capsular contracture. Anyone have any insight?

Answer: Breast Aug with ankylosing spondylitis Thank you for your question. I would absolutely discuss this with your rheumatologist. I have operated on patients with this in the past and we chose saline implants to minimize the risk of increase encapsulation. Other than that they received the ok from their rheumatologist. I would just ask him/her and then seek counsel from board certified plastic surgeons in your area. Best of luck to you
