I'm 10 days post-op. I've had to go to the bathroom a couple times everyday and have had diarrhea. My primary general doctor said it is from the antibiotics. Also, would food poisoning increase the risk of me developing capsular contracture or any other complication?
Answer: Capsular contracture AND antibiotics Great question, capsular contracture is a breast augmentation complication that develops when the internal scar tissue forms a constricting capsule around the breast implant making it tighter in order to effect movement it until it hardens and distort the breast shape. So antibiotics and possible food poisoning will not have any effect. It is also best that you seek your PS and make sure to validate your concerns.

Answer: Capsular contracture Dear babygal21,Capsular contracture happens. In fact, every implant has a capsule form around it, its just a certain percentage develop thick capsules. There is a lot we don't know about it actually. Some think that bacteria that gets on the implant during insertion can increase the risk. Thats why we use a Keller Funnel in our practice to reduce that possibility. Our capsular contracture rate is less than 2% because we use a keller funnel as well as meticulous operating room techniques. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to discuss them with your plastic surgeon.
