I enjoy dancing and swimming, as a result I still participate in these activities. My surgeon told me I was fine for swimming four weeks after the operation. Since I'm not big i can feel the mesh from the outside of my body if I put my hand over my abdomen. Now my question is is it safe that I dance. Can this result in the mesh moving inside? I am not sure if my surgeon sutured the mesh or not, but lets say he didn't, can dancing make it move out of place and if so how would I know if it moved? I am not sure if my surgeon sutured the mesh or not, but lets say he didn't.

There are a lot of things to consider in answering your question, for example what kind of mesh? What was the reason for using mesh? What type of dancing? Your surgeon certainly will have sutured the mesh in place, and the typical healing time for surgical repairs of this sort to integrate and heal is about 6 weeks. (If swimming is OK then East Coast swing probably OK, Argentine tango not yet!)
