Hello, i did my upper eyelid surgery about 2 weeks ago. And after a few days, i woke up with a bloodshot eye. It's been more than a week now and i'm going back to university soon. Any ideas how to solve this? Thank you

Answer: Bloodshot eye 2 weeks post-op You have developed a subconjunctival bruise which can occur after upper or lower blepharoplasty. It is the same process as a bruise under the skin but does look scarier. It will resolve with time but expect the interesting colors of green and yellow coming next just like any bruise. It just takes time. Good luck.

Answer: Subconjunctival hemorrhage This always looks scarier than it actually is. Just like bruising under you skin, when blood leaks out of the vessels, it becomes visible. Since the skin has pigment and is thicker, the resulting bruise looks more purple. The thin covering of the eye is clear, so in this case, it looks red. These can result from surgery (as in your case) or can occur spontaneously with strenuous coughing or sneezing. They are not dangerous but do last up to 3 weeks. It sounds like you are two weeks in, so probably another week or so and it should resolve. There is not much you can do at this point to make it speed up. It just needs time,
