The healing process from lower eyelid surgery depends on several factors. The technique used by the surgeon, the age of the patient and several other factors. It can also vary from patient to patient. Most patients are mildly bruised for 5-10 days.
Thank you for your question. If you are having lower eyelid surgery for eye bags, you may be socially unacceptable for about 10 days...7-14 days is the average range. To be sure, ask your surgeon or see two or more board-certified plasticsurgeons in your area for a full and complete evaluation to make sure you are agood candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.I hope this helps.
Bruising varies considerably from patient to patient. A few have little to no bruising which is gone in a week, but most have bruising that lasts from 5 days to 2 weeks. Occasionally patients have bad bruising that lasts longer, but usually they say, "that is me, I bruise a lot." I always ask patients when we meet if they bruise easily or get bruises but don't remember any bump or trauma. Those are the patients who I expect to have significant bruising. Some patients and doctors believe Arnica prevents bruising but I am not convinced. Using ice and holding pressure for the first 24 hours will definitely help.Good luck!
Generally, I let my patients go outdoors after surgery. I ask them to wear large sunglasses that will cover the eyes. The nice thing about eyelid surgery is that wearing sunglasses can pretty much hide your recovering eyelids.Best of luck with your recovery!
Only seeing you in person and with the before photos would allow a determination of incision placement being to 'high'. As for possible therapies, I might try a bleaching agent to non invasive laser for hyper pigmentation. Fraxel is NOT the correct choice...
One of the more common causes of a wide-eyed "staring" appearance. It can be easily diagnosed with simple blood tests. I would have this ruled out before investigating other causes.Good luck!
