Hair currently shedding badly. Should I up my dutasteride dosage to everyday and drop finasteride?

I've been combating hair loss for the past 5 years. Last year I had a second HT (repair), and over the course of the year my hair loss got worse. Combined with the effect of finasteride giving me brain fog, I stopped for several months. I started back at the start of this year with 5-HTP and have added 0.5mg dutasteride once a week to my regime, as well as 15% dutagen minoxdil and RU once a day (morning/night). Since adding all these new regimes over the past month, my hair has shed quit badly.

You need an exam and a discussion with your doctor.  Understanding that there is no medication or a cure for genetic androgenic alopecia may help you and your doctor come up with a good plan.  Eventually you have to accept that your genetic trait will win.

Since you have already undergone hair transplant twice and the hair fall is still continuing, it will be better to visit a hair Specialist and look out for reasons apart from the genetic one like low iron, thyroid, stress, etc.

For anyone with scalp issues post transplantation, a scalp examination by a dermatologist might be considered. This would include persistent itching, pain, shedding. it would be important to exclude scalp conditions that give excessive shedding (like lichen planopilaris) as well as medical issues like thyroid conditions, low iron, medications (including high concentrations of minoxidil) and an array of autoimmune conditions.

It is better to discuss your options with your doctor.  Your shedding may be normal after the procedure and it may come back in a couple of months.
