When I was originally considering having a hair procedure for my thinning/receding hair, I was very nervous and skeptical. Seemingly the only information I could find online was nightmare scenarios of people that had bad experiences... but then my friend's dad told me about his experience with hair transplant procedures and his only feedback was "I wish I had done it sooner, it changed my life". So I eventually decided to get my first hair transplant (FUT Procedure) at the Anderson Hair Center in 2021, and the process was smooth, recovery easy, and a few months after the procedure my hair looked fantastic, and my self confidence was through the roof. Fast forward to 2025, and I decided to get a second procedure because of how happy I was with improvement of the first one (I wanted a second one to make it even more perfect if you will even though the first one did wonders for me), and this time Dr. Anderson performed an FUE procedure, and yet again, I am thrilled with the experience and immediately happy with my decision. My experience with Dr. Anderson has been nothing short of phenomenal. You can tell he isn't one of those doctors that just goes through the motions with his patients to get the job done and get paid. Instead he legitimately cares about being excellent at his craft and helping his patients achieve their hair goals. From the initial conversations, to the evaluation, to the day of the procedure... at each step I felt like the doctor and his team listened to me and acted in my best interest and made sure that I was going to get the best results possible. Similar to the advice I got before my procedure, I will give the same feedback to anyone considering a procedure with the Anderson Hair Center... I only wish I did it sooner. No more worrying about wearing hats or whether my hair is combed just right to minimize the appearance of thinning spots. Now I just go out into the world with full confidence and not having a second thought about my hair, just like when I was 20 years old. The truth is these hair procedures have come a long way and the science has been perfected, and Dr. Anderson is one of the best in the world at performing the procedures. If you're self conscious about your thinning/receding hair, don't overthink it, this solution works, plain and simple.
After having my first FUE procedure with Dr. Anderson, I honestly didn’t think the experience could get any better — but this second time exceeded all expectations. Not only did I receive the same world-class care and artistry, but this time around I was able to keep my existing hair unshaved, which made the recovery incredibly discreet and easy. Within a week, no one could tell anything had been done. That alone was a total game-changer. Walking into Dr. Anderson’s office again, I felt an even deeper trust — I already knew the level of precision, integrity, and artistry he brings to his work. But this time, I was able to notice even more: the small, thoughtful refinements in technique, the individualized approach, and the attention to aesthetic detail that truly separates him from the rest. He doesn’t just restore hair — he restores confidence, subtly and naturally. The no-shave technique was remarkable. I was fully expecting to need to hide out for a few weeks like I did the first time, but that wasn’t the case. There was minimal redness, and everything was so carefully placed and blended that even I could hardly see it after just a few days. I returned to my normal routine almost immediately, which was hugely important for me professionally. What continues to impress me is Dr. Anderson’s artistry. My new hairline is soft, natural, and totally unique to me. It doesn’t look like a “procedure” — it looks like me, only better. And I know how difficult it is to achieve that kind of result. Once again, he used a strategic mix of graft sizes, placed with surgical precision for the most realistic effect. The irregularity and flow of the hairline is so human — it's what separates art from formula. The recovery was not only fast but incredibly smooth thanks to Dr. Anderson’s team. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel comfortable, informed, and supported. They even offered to help clean and care for the grafts post-op, which meant so much the first time — and still does. Their kindness, calm energy, and professionalism make a big difference during a procedure that, frankly, requires a lot of trust. If you’re considering FUE surgery, there’s no one else I would recommend. Do your research — really do it — and you’ll come to the same conclusion I did: Dr. Anderson sets the standard, trains others to meet it, and still surpasses it himself. I’m so glad I waited and did this the right way. The second time was even more rewarding than the first, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience or the results. Thank you again, Dr. Anderson — truly. Here is a photo one week after surgery - 1772 grafts primarily in hairline.
This is a long-term review of Dr. Ken Anderson. I had my hair transplant procedure with him back when he practiced in Beverly Hills in September of 2004. The results were terrific. It’s been over 20 years, so I don’t remember much of the details about that day, but one thing has stuck with me all these years. On that day in 2004 I was talking with one of the surgical technicians that was working with Dr. Anderson. She had worked with many different doctors over the years, and she made some comments about Dr. Anderson. She explained to me that since Dr. Ken Anderson was a board-certified plastic surgeon, he took twice as long as other doctors to harvest the FUT strip and perform the closure (ie: close the wound with stitches…I had a linear procedure…FUE didn’t really exist at that time). She told me that Dr. Anderson paid a lot of attention to the little details, and performed the best FUT strip removal and closures of any doctor that she had worked with in her career. She said that, in her opinion, other doctors took less care, because they knew that in the end the scar would be covered by hair anyway. What I have learned/observed is that artists and craftsmen who pay a great deal of attention to the details will produce a better product, and that’s who Dr. Anderson is. It’s been over two decades and I’m still very happy with the results of my surgery. If I were approached by someone with questions about this procedure, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ken, even though it would involve a cross-country flight from California.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr Anderson, Matt and the whole staff. They went above and beyond my expectations. I had ALL my questions answered and I felt very confident in my decision to go to Dr Anderson in Georgia. I am two months out and I am seeing great results. Recovery and down time was not bad at all. I can’t say enough about the staff the day of my procedure. They were very kind and helpful. If I had to do this over I would go back to Dr Anderson again. The best thing is he is easily available on the phone for any follow ups.
Dr. Anderson is best in the business. Throughout the entire process from beginning to end, I felt supported with information and compassion as a patient at Dr. Anderson’s practice. The intake process was seamless and his office made sure I understood my options, outcomes, and answered all questions I had. I was traveling from out of state and his office was great about scheduling appointments and even recommending accommodations for me while I was in Atlanta. It’s my understanding that many patients travel far and wide to Dr. Anderson and after being a patient myself, I understand why! This was certainly worth the travel. For the procedure itself, his team made sure I was comfortable and relaxed - it was virtually painless. I was sent home with thorough instructions on how to care for the transplanted hairs and healed quickly. I was tender headed for a few days, but the scar healed beautifully and is virtually undetectable. There are misconceptions and misinformation on the internet about the hair transplant process, so I was weary of moving forward - BUT Dr. Anderson approached my care with a balance of science and compassion. His bedside manner is great, paired with a beautiful and calming office/treatment space. Since the procedure I have started to see growth in the areas treated that look gradual and natural. I recommend Dr. Anderson and his team for any of your hair restoration needs. I truly feel he is one of the best in the industry and I appreciate his help through this journey.
I am writing this review for Andersen Center for Hair as I recently had a FUE hair transplant in mid 2024 as I had been concerned about thinning hair in the crown and my frontal lobe areas. This runs in my family on my Dad’s side so I could tell there would be more hair loss down the road if I didn’t do something. I was referred to Andersen Center by my hair stylist and said he had clients that spoke very highly of them and their ability to perform different hair transplant options. My initial consult was good as I was skeptical about the cost and the procedure truly giving me the results I hoped for. What I can say 6 months after the procedure, following the protocol they laid out post op is that I am 100% happy with the results for the grafts they were able to extract and reapply to the balding areas. The procedure was actually very easy, the staff was super friendly along with my Dr. that explained what to expect throughout the day and post procedure so I felt comfortable throughout the process and it did not hurt as I thought it may. You are numbed and have a local anesthetic so you are not awake while the procedure occurs which is a good thing as you wake up and it’s done. The post op care instructions are important to follow to ensure you heal properly however if you follow them, it’s easy and heals pretty quickly. My wife has commented numerous times how well my hair has filled out and how good it looks. There is nothing that looks unnatural on my hair as I was initially concerned with and believe for the cost of this investment, it was well worth it. I will say based on the grafts they took and the area they filled in, I need to “touch up” a few areas so I just scheduled again with Matt (who is great) a second round of grafts to finalize my hair for what I want. With that said, I was truly amazed when we looked at the pre-op photos of my receding and thinning hair areas and how much of a huge difference my hair is now vs 6 months ago – I realized I just waited too long to commit to the procedure. The only other point I wanted to say is I’ve been to both the Atlanta and Alpharetta locations and both are very nice, staff is accommodating and overall I am happy I chose this clinic over other options I had considered Updated on 6 May 2025: I am writing this review for Anderson Center for Hair as I recently had my 2nd FUE hair transplant inFebruary of 2025. I chose to do another round as the crown area didn’t fill in as much as I needed based on the 1 year period from my initial transplant. The 2nd surgery was really great as I had Dr. Ken Anderson perform my procedure and it went very smoothly along with the recovery period, no issues again. I am at the 3 month mark of the 2nd transplant and the hair follicles are looking good and beginning to fill in so it is making good progress and happy thus far with the results. My wife hascommented numerous times how well my hair is filling in and how good it looks like it did years ago. There is nothing that looks unnatural on my hair as I was initially concerned with and believe for the cost of this investment, it was well worth it. With that said, I was truly amazed when we looked at the pre-op photos of my receding and thinning hair areas and how much of a huge difference my hair is now versus over year ago so I am glad I did the second and hopefully final round of transplants. The other point I wanted to say is I’ve been to both the Atlanta and Alpharetta locations and both are very nice, staff is accommodating and overall I am happy I chose this clinic over other options I hadconsidered. Dr. Anderson and his staff are very professional and there was a lot of post-op follow up to ensure everything was going ok and if there were any concerns.
As a practicing physician, I hold high standards when it comes to medical care—and Dr. Ken Anderson and his team exceeded every one of them. I underwent an FUT hair transplant procedure with Dr. Anderson just yesterday, and I felt compelled to share my experience because it was truly exceptional from start to finish. From the initial consultation, Dr. Anderson’s expertise, professionalism, and warmth were immediately evident. He took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure, set realistic expectations, and made sure all my questions were answered. As someone in medicine, I appreciated his precision and evidence-based approach, but even more, I appreciated his genuine care for my individual goals. On the day of the procedure, the entire team was attentive, kind, and efficient. Dr. Anderson’s skill in performing the FUT procedure was evident—not only in his surgical technique, but also in his meticulous attention to detail. I was made comfortable throughout the process, and everything ran smoothly. Even post-op, the instructions were clear, and the follow-up communication has been outstanding. It’s rare to find a combination of surgical expertise, artistic talent, and truly compassionate care in one place, but that’s exactly what you get with Dr. Anderson. I feel very confident and am excited for the results to come, and I’m grateful to have chosen a provider who brings such excellence to the field of hair restoration. For anyone considering this journey, I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Anderson without hesitation.
I recently had an incredible experience with Dr. Ken Anderson and his amazing medical team at Anderson Center for Hair. I underwent an FUE hair treatment procedure under their care, and I am extremely pleased with the results. From the initial consultation where all my concerns were thoroughly addressed, to the meticulous precision taken during the procedure, and the post-operative care, every step was handled with utmost professionalism and expertise. Dr. Anderson and his staff's dedication to ensuring my comfort and satisfaction truly set them apart. Not only did the procedure itself exceed my expectations, but the support and guidance provided by Dr. Anderson and his team made the entire journey smooth and comfortable. I am beyond grateful for their attention to detail and the fantastic outcome of the procedure. Today, I have a newfound confidence and a head full of natural-looking hair, all thanks to Dr. Ken Anderson and his exceptional team at Anderson Center for Hair. I had a wonderful experience with Dr Anderson, Nelson and the whole staff. They went above and beyond my expectations. I had ALL my questions answered and I felt very confident in my decision to go to Dr Anderson in Georgia. I am from Mississippi and I did my research and he was the obvious choice. I am two months out and I am seeing great results. Recovery and down time was not bad at all. I can’t say enough about the staff the day of my procedure. They were very kind and helpful, especially Mrs.Linda. If I had to do this over I would go back to Dr Anderson again. The very best!!!!!!
Hello and thank you for posting this question. The simple answer is that it's not possible to tell because your hair is dry and we are not able to see the extent of the thinning. As presented it could be as little as 400 grafts, or as much as 1200 grafts, depending on how much actual loss is present. I hope this information is helpful to you. Kind Regards, Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRS Board Certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery
Thank you for posting this question. The short answer is that if you don't have hair loss, you don't need to be using Rogaine. I'm not certain why you started in the first place since you say you don't have any hair loss. Rogaine is used to treat male- and female-pattern hair loss, it is not indicated to attempt to lower a hairline in a person without male- or female-pattern hair loss. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
We ask our patients to continue using finasteride before and after their surgery date, taking it as normal. I don't feel there is a need to stop the medication for the procedure. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
Thank you for posting this question. The short answer is yes, of course you can perform an FUE surgery without shaving down the recipient area. It's called a "long hair FUE" and it is helpful for people who don't want to have to trim down all of their hair as it might be a disruption to their lifestyle or work. And don't worry; you're not going to make a hairline look unnatural with too much density...it's the linear nature of a hairline that looks unnatural, not hair that is "too dense" as that's not really possible unless a surgeon is using plugs, which went out of fashion last century. I hope this information is helpful to you.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
Thank you for posting this question. The simple fact is that your hair has not had enough time to fully grow in. I would wait until at least 10 months before considering the look to be "final" and all the hairs to have grown in. So, I would give it another 5 months and then meet with your surgeon if you're not happy with the density.Ken Anderson, MD, FISHRS, ABHRSBoard Certified Hair Restoration Surgeon
