The bad thing is that they are permanent." The reality is that hair restoration is a highly-complicated procedure with hundreds of subtleties and nuances. The cost will vary according to the experience, dedication, and talent of the surgeon and practice who will be performing your surgery. Because the results are permanent, it's not the best idea to shop on price alone or you may be stuck with results you are not satisfied with for the rest of your life. It turns out that in the USA there are very few qualifications needed to be able to call yourself a "hair restoration surgeon." Notably, there is zero surgery training required for a physician to give themselves this title. A psychiatrist may have a sign printed today saying "hair restoration surgery" and hang it on his door, hire some techs off of Craigslist, buy a few instruments, and start to offer surgical hair restorations tomorrow, without having ever touched a surgical instrument. Clearly, in such a case, the results will almost certainly not be stellar. Each graft can range wildly from $2 to $12 a graft. It depends on the doctor and the technique used to harvest the grafts.To cover your entire head, it would take 6000+ grafts. Even with 6000 grafts you will still have a thin look. So you must understand what is possible with a hair transplant surgery and what realistic goals you have in mind.A great doctor can make you look better with 2000 grafts as long as the doctor sets your expectations.
