I had a breast reduction in October 21. I am almost a year post op and I have lost over 20lbs since surgery. I started out as a 36G. I am a 34H now. Meaning I am the same size after surgery? The doctor swore he could get me to a C/D. How am I still where I was? I had a major surgery, I have big scars, etc. He wants to meet with me to discuss further options. I'm not even sure that insurance will cover another surgery.
Answer: Large Breasts after Breast Reduction Surgery It can be frustrating to feel like your breast size hasn't decreased as expected after your reduction surgery. Several factors can contribute to this outcome. One possibility is that the surgical technique used may not have fully addressed your desired size reduction, or there could have been some tissue regrowth over time, despite weight loss. Breast tissue can be influenced by hormones, genetics, and even weight fluctuations, so it's not uncommon for breasts to remain larger or even grow after a reduction. Given that you have lost weight and still find yourself at a similar size to before the surgery, it is crucial to discuss these concerns directly with your surgeon. They can assess your individual case and determine if further intervention is necessary. A second reduction or alternative options may be considered. It's important to understand your options moving forward, and seeking a second opinion could also help you make an informed decision about how to proceed. Answer: Breast reduction Thank you for your question. It is obviously impossible for me to know what your surgeon did during the first reduction. It is not unheard of for breasts to continue to grow even after a breast reduction. If you are still symptomatic it is certainly worth trying to have insurance cover a repeat reduction. Good luck
