Weight gain 10 years after breast implants - will weight loss help reverse sagging?

The sagging will likely not improve with weight loss. You may experience some fat loss in your breast with your weight loss but sagging generally does not improve without surgery.

Unfortunately additional weight gain can cause skin laxity, but not always - I recommend seeing a plastic surgeon to review.

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately there is not a way to reverse sagging without surgery. As we age and with weight gain and weight loss, our skin starts to naturally stretch and sag. By looking at your photos, a breast lift would not be necessary but possibly other less invasive surgical options would help improve the sagging.

Congratulations on your weight loss journey! There can be many reasons that breasts sag including age, genetics, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight. Over ten years it's difficult to say why the breasts are sagging but it's likely a combination of factors. As you lose weight you may notice some changes to your breasts but it's not likely that the sagging will improve significantly. Once you have reached your weight goal if you are unhappy with your breast shape you can consider a lift.

Typically, with weight gain, breasts are larger and with weight loss, breast are smaller and tend to sag. Once you reach your weight goal, you may need a lift.

Hi there! When breasts begins to change and sit lower it's typically a skin issue not fat, meaning that even with weight loss you will need the skin laxity addressed with a possible breast lift. Breast lifts can be done if you already have an implant depending on if your implants are still in great condition.

Thank you for your question. Based on your photograph your breast appearance is excellent in my opinion and of your breast look very natural and normal.

If you lose 15 or 20 pounds your breast actually may sag more as losing that amount of weight will reduce the amount of fat tissue in the breast, make the breast smaller, and a smaller breast and the same breast envelope will cause sagging.

After a 37 pound weight gain, weight loss now is unlikely to reverse implant sagging. It is possible that as you loose more weight, the natural breast masses will also decline. If the envelope of skin has been stretched with time and weight fluctuations, the positions of the breasts may appear lower after weight loss.
You weight management is a health decision and you would best be served by reaching a satisfying weight goal. I would suggest delaying mastopexy surgery until you reach and sustain your lower goal weight. Than breast surgery could offer your a potentially better result.
