I had successful breast reduction about 3 years ago w/perfect result. Since then, I gained weight (and then lost it all), but my perfect breasts disappeared with the weight. I have been Google-ing implants after reduction to see potential results and don't find sample photos. I also am worried about re-hashing vertical scars. Is this a common surgery? Would I be a good candidate? Could I have good result without vertical scars? I just want some volume to restore results, nothing too big.
Answer: Would I be a candidate From the photo you appear to be a good candidate for an augmentation and revision to your breast lift. Your surgeon will exam you to determine the degree of skin laxity and needed incisions to address it. You should be able to regain upper pole fullness and have a nice result.

Answer: Implants will definitely improve the fullness. Surgery to insert an implant through inframammary fold incision will restore the volume and improve the shape. I don't think I need to do another breast-lifting surgery, but I think I need to trim the remaining skin on the cleavage side a bit.

Answer: Yes, you are a good candidate for breast implants with no additional vertical scarring Your incision can be placed in the crease under the breast. I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Answer: Breast implant candidate Thank you for your question regarding being a candidate for breast implants after a breast reduction and for including photos. They are very helpful! Having a breast reduction does not exclude you from every having breast implants. The implants can be placed through a few different areas none of which are the vertical scar. I recommended that you have an in person consultation with two or more board certified plastic surgeons in your area and try on sizers.
