Question

Hello, I plan on exchanging my gummybear natrelle allergan moderate profile implants to 500cc implants. I am a large C small D cup. I want more upper pole fullness, however I'm scared it will make my boobs look too fake. I was wondering if the HP 500cc will give me a lifted look. I do love how soft and bouncy my breast currently are, but I want more upper pole fullness. Would 500cc be enough to create a difference?

Hello, thank you for your question. I would not recommend going bigger, your breast can sag in the future, they look good right now. But if you decided to do it go with a board certified plastic surgeon.

I think 500cc HP will look very nice, but I would also consider having the Original Internal Bra. This is my strong permanent internal suturing technique which lifts your implants from the inside, creating more upper pole fullness and cleavage. This is the most common revision I perform, 5-6 times a week- it works and it lasts!

Your breasts are too low on your chest wall. Adding additional weight of 500 cc implants will make your situation worse. If you want upper pole fullness at this time, the least invasive technique would be fat transfers to the upper pole. At size 32 or 34, each 100 cc of fat corresponds to 1 cup size change. At size 36 or 38, each 200 cc of fat corresponds to 1 cup size change.

Dear Katrina,
   Thanks for posting your pictures. From observing your pictures, indeed your breasts appear to be perky full C/small D , however, you did not provide us with your chest circumference in inches, which is critical for the correct implants size selection. 
  Let's assume that you are currently 34 small D . Replacing your 345 cc implants with 500 cc implants will increase your breasts size to 34 DD. Is that a size that you are comfortable with? In my opinion it is too big, but this is a personal preference. If your goal is just a fuller upper pole I would recommend  425 cc implants , however, you might need also to have capsulotomy (scar release) of the superior capsule , in order to allow the implant to fill the upper pole and give you a natural looking slope.
    Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures of redo breasts augmentation  in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive.

It appears that your gummy bear implants are the round type, not the textured shaped ones (style 410). It also looks like the diameter of the implants matches the base width of your breasts, so if you replace with the same diameter your options would be 415 cc in a full profile or 495 on the extra full. The larger implants will look less natural, and may be more likely to sag over time but could give you a lifted look for a while.

Your breasts look terrific as they are and I wouldn’t go any larger. However, 500 cc’s is not in the realm of excessive or ridiculous. If you said you were going to 800 cc ‘s I would advise against. 500 cc’s I don’t feel necessary for you, but it’s not unreasonable either.

Congrats on your excellent results. A larger, higher profile implant will give you just what you are looking for which is more upper pole fullness. 500cc may be enough but difficult to tell without measurements. In cases similar to yours, I ask patients to bring in a couple of photos that are similar to height and weight so that I can compare these in the operating room. I generally will tryout silicone sizers trying to obtain the same look as the photos.

A higher profile implant and increase in volume is a good start, but I would also consider going with a more cohesive gel to help maintain the upper pole fullness.

Dear sweetlifeofkatrina,
breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

You have a very nice size now, and will be going up about a cup in size. this will be a heavier breast and more likely to sag over time. Placing the implant behind the muscle will give more upper pole fullness, as well as changing the shape to a round implant that is a little taller.
