Thank you for your question! It is better to be off Accutane before any elective procedure! I would advise you to see a board certified plastic surgeon and discuss all of your concerns with him! Thank you for your question. We recommend patients to be off accutane for at least one year before considering plastic surgery. Regards,
Accurate impairs your pilosebaceous units which are what allow new skin to form and are critical for wound healing. You should be off accurate before having elective cosmetic surgery.
It is recommended you avoid elective surgery while on Accutane due to the potential for poor scarring. Most often, the Accutane should be stopped either 6 months or 12 months later.See an expert! Dr. ALDO
Good afternoon and thank you for your question.Generally speaking, it is best for patients to be on as little medication as possible that can affect the outcome of the procedure. Accutane, unfortunately, is one of them and surgeons want to ensure the body can heal to the best of it's ability. Please contact your plastic surgeon for an appointment to talk this over.
Accutane can interfere with wound healing. Therefore the recommendation is to avoid elective surgery while on Accutane. It is best to have stopped the medication for 6-12 months before elective surgery. Hope this helps!
Hello fell9302, I wouldnt recommend getting any surgery on Accutane, in fact it is best to avoid surgery until you have stopped it for at least 6 months. If you run a search online you will notice that scarring is notorious while patients are on it, this is because it interferes with how the skin heals. This goes for any procedure that violates the skin including peels and resurfacing too. Obviously if you were going for an emergency procedure the benefits outweigh the risk, but in this case you are going for an elective procedure, the risk of complications with the wound healing will really offset the lovely results you expect. So my advice is wait, then wait some more. There is no clear answer to this question unfortunately. In general, you should delay surgery until the dimple has fully softened and stopped changing. As you can see for yourself, the biopsy site can change over time. For most procedures we recommend waiting for 3 months for things to soften...
Hello and thank you for your question . Your surgery swelling, retention would have subsided after a few months post operatively. I would make an appt with your primary care Dr. and discuss it. He or she can check your thyroid levels .
Hi ninaja555, I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing pain following your surgery. It is not uncommon to experience pain a few weeks after breast augmentation surgery and the sensation can exhibit more in one breast than the other. It would be best that you visit your plastic surgeon ...
