Bkgnd - Divorce June '17 Breast aug - consulted for a full C- small D surgery 7/5/17, rec'd 450cc DDD cup Pre-op - 34 yo 5'6", 130# Currently - 160# Diet unchanged since pre-op Exercise ^^ since surgery TS4 normal Trying to fig out my weight gain. I've never weighed >130lbs, now can't lose a pound to save my life Could the stress of divorce or surgery have impacted my weight or metabolism? I'm very active & am frustrated that a highly regarded surgeon put 450cc silicone implants that are so big.

Hi jodykcmo, I understand your concern. Weight gain after surgery is normally attributed to fluid retention caused by medications and anesthesia. If you are concerned, please check it with your plastic surgeon for reassurance and assessment. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Any weight gain associated with the surgery would have subsided within a few months.  I recommend following up with your doctor to discuss the situation.  It could be medically related, such as a thyroid issue.  Exploring options to reduce stress is also a good idea.

Stress in general can cause weight gain, especially after a divorce. I would suggest stop eating white sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes, and sodas, and focus on fruits, vegetables, and protein. If need be, see your medical doctor for a exam.

Hello and thank you for your question .   Your surgery swelling, retention would have subsided after a few months post operatively.   I would make an appt with your primary care Dr. and discuss it.  He or she can check your thyroid levels .
