Regarding your question about having a BBL with a BMI over 33, I would say that it is possible, but it's important to take certain precautions to ensure your safety and optimize your results. Your BMI is just one factor we will consider during your pre-operative evaluation. We will also take into account your medical history, any previous surgeries, and any underlying health conditions you may have. Ultimately, every patient is unique, and it's important to approach each case with an individualized plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.
Thanks for your question. At my practice, our max BMI limit for the BBL is 35. So in that respect, you are fine. You would need a proper evaluation and the ok from your doctor. Always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care, Dr. Moises Salama Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your inquiry regarding the possibility of undergoing a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) with a BMI of 33. As a plastic surgeon, I can advise you that while BMI is a significant factor, your overall health status is a critical consideration. Prior to any surgical procedure, you will be required to undergo several health assessments, such as EKGs, urinalysis, and other tests, to ensure that you are medically fit for the surgery. I have performed BBLs on patients with BMIs higher than 33, as long as they are in good health. Although a physical examination would be necessary to evaluate your body type accurately, based on your description, it seems that you may have sufficient fat for a successful outcome. I wish you the best of luck and encourage you to consult with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck and thank you for your question.
Dear SJeffers20,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
You are an excellent candidate for a BBL and likely an ideal candidate. Having some excess fat around your weight allows you to be able have enough fat to fill your buttock and hips proportionately, while also sculpting your abdomen and waist to give you a more chiseled appearance. Make sure to see a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in this procedure to help give you the best result.
Without including pictures, we can’t make an assessment. Based on your weight alone, your first step should be weight loss. Dealing with your obesity should be your number one concern. After a successful weight loss, you may no longer be a good candidate for Liposuction because massive weight loss often comes with developing skin laxity. For patient weighing over 200 pounds treating the tour, so usually requires two sessions of Liposuction removing 5 L so fat during each procedure. It’s pretty unusual patient scaling in at 212 pounds needing fat transfer anywhere. If you’re interested in getting a quality assessment, then I recommend having multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons in your community. Based on Numbers alone, I suggest you consider weight loss as the first step. Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
You likely have enough fat that can be liposuctioned and transferred to your buttocks and hips. That is assuming the fat is under the skin. Usually women with BMI higher than 26 are good candidates for BBL. BMI 33 is ideal.
