Can a fat transfer repair steroid-induced atrophy?

Yes, fat should be able to be transferred to that area, but an examination is needed to be certain. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon, discussing your options and costs. Costs may vary depending upon the location in the country and if it is done in the office under local anesthesia or at a surgery center.

I would certainly consider using the fat to insulate the sensitive area of your thigh. A physical exam would be necessary to estimate how much fat would need to be transferred and where to harvest it from. I would guess that the procedure may be done under local anesthesia and the cost would start around $3500 (estimate of course)

Fat transfer can be used to treat steroid induced fat atrophy but will not have an impact on skin atrophy.
