I want to prevent the fine lines in my forehead from getting deeper bit I don't want to have a completely frozen forehead or have spocking. Is it possible to simply minimize movement without stopping it completely or is there another way of doing the Botox so it looks natural?
Answer: Proper Botox and Dysport Dosing to Retain Natural Movement Hello,Yes, your injector will discuss your objectives and use a smaller dose so that you can still move your forehead. Please keep in mind that the size of the dose required depends on the size and strength of the muscles involved, and that it may take some history together before your injector gets the ideal result. Often times, in your first treatment, your injector will be conservative a use a small amount, knowing that more can be added in a touch up procedure a couple of weeks later if needed. It is not possible to use too much and then "take away" later - in this case the patient will need to wait until the medication wears off (approximately 3 months). I recommend you have an in person consultation with an expert injector in your area and develop a great relationship with someone you really like. Experience as an injector, and experience as a patient and treatment provider team, goes a long way.

Answer: Botox Great question! Yes, your board certified plastic surgeon can adjust the dosing of your Botox treatment to allow for some movement. I encourage you to voice your concerns and goals at the time of your consultation. Good luck!

Answer: Botox treatment to still allow movement Yes, it is possible to dose the botox such that some movement is still present. The exact amount of botox needed to do this in your case may involve some trial and error at first to dial in the proper amount in your case.

Answer: Botox Dear mintybanana,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days.It depends on the amount of Botox and area where it is injected but it usually last for 3-4 months.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
