Uneven botox and filler combination result to treat a cleft in chin, what should I do? (photos)

I got chin botox 10 days ago to try and treat a cleft - it left my chin uneven but didn't do much else. Yesterday afternoon, I received a filler treatment to erase the cleft. My profile looks great, but where my chin was uneven from botox remains uneven now. Should I massage the filler so that my chin looks even now or will that just leave it uneven again when the botox wears off?

When Botox and Filler have been added to an area and there are residual issues it would be best to allow the Botox to wear off which in the chin will be soon. Leave the filler alone because this is the likely correction for the issue and not Botox.

It takes 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox and fillers. I would wait 2 weeks before assessing results. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase and Botox results can be softened with venus legacy. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Massaging the area may help the swelling subside. If deformity continues after 2 weeks follow up with your doctor for evaluation and treatment e.g. repeat injection.

Hello and thank you for your question. It is common to have some level of asymmetry after an injectable treatment due to swelling. I would follow the post procedure care that was given to you by your injector and if the uneven appearance is still visible after 3-4 days schedule a follow up appointment. Good luck to you!

It may take a few days for any swelling or bruising related to the filler treatment to resolve. If the chin looks uneven after the swelling has resolved, I would consider additional Botox/Dysport if the unevenness is related to muscle activity or more filler if unevenness is related to filler placement.

Hello alvarezashley22,The swelling from your filler yesterday can lead to some unevenness.  it is important to give it time to settle down before considering anything else.  If you feel a spot that is more firm then you should ask your injector if you should massage that one spot.  Otherwise, time should help to even things out and Botox after two weeks can help after that.I hope this helps and good luck.

The filler will cause some swelling which will go down within a few days and if there is still unevenness after that then Botox can be injected to even everything out

Thank you for your question and pictures. It is common to have some degree of swelling and/or bruising following fillers injections. It usually resolve within one to two weeks. After a few days only, gentle massage is ok if you feel a lump.  I recommend following up with your injector in 10-14 days. All the best, Dr.Michon

You may have some residual swelling from the Juvederm treatment.  I would wait 1-2 weeks to allow the tissues to settle.  If at that time you still have concerns return to your injector for an evaluation.
