Why is one nipple and areola larger after Breast Augmentation? (photos)

Question

Before my BA I had both equal sized areolas and now after I have one larger and I hate it it looks like a pancake and the nipple in that areola looks smaller because of the skin stretching more than the other which the nipple is bigger.. can this be fixed? Larger areola is my left one I got 350cc under muscle mod + profile silicone

Hello,Thank you for the question and photos. You do appear to have a bit more swelling on that side so there may be more tension. You are still very early post op. I recommend that you continue to follow up with your Plastic Surgeon and hold off on evaluating results for a few more months.All the best

Thank you for sharing your photographs and questions.  I am sorry that your current results have not been what you anticipated, but you are early in the healing process with significant changes coming to both of your breasts.  You likely have some mild differences in swelling and implant placement between your two breasts accounting for the differences in nipple/areola size.  As your tissues relax and the swelling resolves you should see steady improvement in your results.  I know it is difficult but allow at least 6 months to pass before assessing your outcome.

You have to be patient with the results. The areola will change a bit as they heal and as the swelling subsides. Best of luck.

Try not to stress about any early asymmetries, generally they will settle with time and won't need any further treatment.Whilst we obviously don't have your preoperative photos, you look to have an excellent early result.It is quite common for patients to be anxious in the early postoperative phase. Dear Tuberous,Are you kidding?  It is obvious that you are only merely weeks out from your surgery.  Do you mean to tell me that no one involved in your care, plastic surgeon, nurse, patient coordinator ever told you that it would be a minimum of 6 months for your breast augmentation and breast lift to settle?  Or were you just not listening?  Your result looks great right now, and just as it should look!

You seem to be on early post op. Don't stress ! , you won't be able to appreciate final results until 3 months post op.  It will probably  even out by then. Best wishes

It appears that you also had a periareolar mastopexy. It is far too early to be concerned as over the next 3-4 months the areola I will normalize and may be closer in size.  If after 3-4 months asymmetry persists a simple revision as possible.
