Would I benefit from a mini facelift or vaser liposuction? 33 year old, noticing jowls and lower face/neck sagging. (photos)

Question

I have noticed that within the last 2-3 years, that I have started to age RAPIDLY. My entire face has changed shape and looks very bottom heavy and I am developing jowls. My jawline has always been very weak, however, now it’s worse than ever and I would like to treat that to define the entire jawline area from profile view, as well as treat the sagging jowls that affect my front facial appearance. Would I benefit from a mini facelift, or could I get away with something like Vaserliposuction?

Sometimes people notice rapid signs of aging and there are many nonsurgical and surgical options to help correct this. Surgery is not for everyone. In today's day and age, there are many surgical and nonsurgical options to address various concerns one has for their face as they age.

In general, surgery is one of the best ways to address jowls and bulging fat and falling tissue. However, laser skin tightening and all sorts of injectables can definitely help significantly especially for patients that are not interested in surgery. If you're ever interested in surgery, the procedure is much different than what you're probably reading about online. A short scar facelift or mid face lift can typically be done under local anesthesia in the office, usually in as little as 20 to 30 minutes. There are usually no drains, recovery is quick and most patients take no narcotics.

I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area that is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and performs a lot of facelifts but also offers all the nonsurgical options such as injectables and laser treatments. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and never be pushed out with just one suggestion. Ultimately there are pros and cons to every procedure whether it's surgery or not surgery. It should always be your choice. I have had 80 year old patients be very happy without having had any surgical procedures.

Based on these limited photos, it seems that chin augmentation can significantly alter your jawline, profile. Addition of RF treatment like renuvion, could further improve skin tone, tightnes, jowls. You are quite young to be considering something like a facelift.  At this stage I agree that fillers are a good option.  Fat grafting is an even more powerful filler that can add volume to the upper cheeks and along tear troughs and nasolabial folds, and lips.  This can offer a nice rejuvenative effect without scars. The photographs demonstratea weak and recession Chin from the side profile, and  prominent pre-jowl sulcus from the front profile. Both of these issues are due to the mandible bone not growing far enough forward. Consider placement of a chin implant to address those specific issues. Placement of a chin implant can augment the chin forward from the side profile, and give added width from the front view which will dress your pre-Jowl sulcus. You do not have jowls presently. Liposuction in the neck and address removal of those fat deposits in that location. A platysma plasty can also get a significant jawline improvement as well
