It is difficult to be sure based on photographs rather than clinical examination whether this problem is related to removing too much fatty tissue under the skin or an aggressive scar tissue response after liposuction to the area or both.

In an effort to produce more neck definition at the time of a mini facelift, there is a risk that liposuction will remove too much fatty tissue under the chin. In women, the skin in the area is soft and delicate and can start to show wrinkles. This problem can unfortunately also be due to a more aggressive response of the scar tissue buildup after liposuction.
