Is it normal to have blood in urine a few days post tummy tuck surgery?

Blood in the urine is not normal after tummy tuck surgery and the urine needs to be analyzed to rule out several conditions which can cause blood in the urine. I suggest you speak with your plastic surgeon about this concern.

During your tummy tuck you likely had a urinary catheter placed.  Some irritation resulting in blood in your urine may have occurred because of this.  If you continue to see blood, if the amount increases, or other symptoms present, see your surgeon for an evaluation.

They may have put a catheter in your bladder and this may be the reason your urine is bloody.This should clear.For sure see your PS.

It depends. But why have you NOT contacted your operative surgeon ASAP? Or have gone to see him/her? This is a potentially serious postoperative issue that needs to be tended to..

Hi, thanks for your question.If you were placed a foley catheter to control your diuresis it may be likely that you could have injured the urethra to remove it or when you had it, if you have not used the probe, I recommend you visit your ps to evaluate you better. Indicate studies to determine the cause of bleeding.
