What is the recovery like for double-chin liposuction?

First, a complete examination is needed to determine if there is fat below the platysma muscle. If there is only fat between the skin and muscle then you are a candidate for submental liposuction or Kybella. The procedure can be performed in the office with IV sedation or oral sedation. Both local anesthesia and tumescent anesthesia is used. I have not prescribed any medications for pain after this procedure. There is a few days of anticipated but you can return to work the following day. Good luck

I consider under chin liposuction a procedure of "small invasiveness". The surgery takes about 30 min to complete and we like to use a sedative for best patient comfort. Some of our patients prefer local anesthesia only.You will wear a bandage afterwards and you can expect modest amounts of swelling and some bruising. Most of our patients are able to re-enter life after 5 to 7 days. Healing will not be complete but appearance-wise, you should be presentable. The neck skin will feel numb which takes about 6 weeks to subside, sometimes a little longer. Final results are judged after about 4 months but most of our patients look already significantly better after 7 days. Lastly, if you are a athletic male, you may not achieve the desired results with liposuction only. Rather, a neck-lift may be the right treatment for you. Ask an experienced facial plastic surgeon for his/her advice.

Chin liposuction is one of the most popular treatments for men in my practice. Getting rid of fat is easy. The challenge is how to tighten the skin once the fat is removed. Your recovery speed will typically depend on what technique is used to tighten skin. Ask your surgeon what technique he or she will use in your particular case. Ask about SmartLipo, PrecisionTX, or better yet, J-Plasma. Recovery is typically marked by mild bruising and swelling in the chin and neck area which can last from a few days to few weeks. You can minimize this with a supplement called Arnica. You will wear a fitting garment around your neck area to hold compression while you heal, usually for about a week. The procedure is generally very well tolerated. If you elect for general anesthesia then that carries its own downtime for the first day or so. Liposuction alone, however, can often be done with light sedation or local anesthesia. You can expect some moderate swelling and bruising that will last for about a week or so. Hello,Chin liposuction is one of the more popular procedures with male patients. Surgery to reduce a double chin often takes one hour or less in experienced hands. An in-person consultation is required, of course, in order to fully assess you but video consultation and/or photos in multiple angles can be helpful to give general guidance on options. The determination of whether to do just lipo or consider tightening the muscle, addressing the chin itself with an implant or other techniques depends on a variety of factors, including projection of the bony part of the chin, muscle looseness/bands, skin looseness, fat excess, and nasal projection.   A full set of photographs are required to make a determination regarding the chin, mandible,  and the skin, muscle, and fat located in the neck.  Liposuction can remove the fatty deposits above of the  the platysma muscle, however and neck lift with a platysma plasty is required to remove the fatty deposits underneath the platysma muscle.  Many patients with a double children also have recessive chin profile for which chin implant is required.  When patients have loose and inelastic skin, a lower face and neck lift is required.

Generally recovery after chin liposuction is easy.
Most people do not need prescription pain medication and swelling and bruising generally subsides within a few days.
That's my patients to wear the compression garments for two days after that they can wear them intermittently.
Lancer vacation has been that young people who are not overweight and have a double chin often have an insufficient projection of their chin or an imbalance of the size of their midface also known as maxilla relationship with their jaw known as the mandible
For these people  a chin implant often serves to enhance the results of liposuction.
I suggest consulting with more than one board-certified plastic surgeon to get an accurate assessment.

 Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures over the past 30 years using facial liposuction, dermal fillers, silastic facial implants, facelifts and neck lifts as required.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation.  If the chin is weak, removing fat alone with liposuction will not provide the needed forward projection of the chin to balance the lower face.  In this scenario, a chin implant would be required. If however, the chin is not weak, liposuction under the chin and across the neck can be done under local anesthesia in less than 30 minutes.  In my experience this technique is very safe, quick and highly effective at shaping the chin and neck.  There typically is very little swelling, bruising or discomfort especially if activity is limited during the first week post operatively.Hope this helps.
