I am thinking about getting double-chin liposuction. I am a male, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, athletic, but with a very round face. I know that my double chin / lack of jaw line is genetic, since my mother and her siblings have the same type of face. If I get this procedure done, how long will it take for me to recover? Should I expect swelling? What are thee stages of recovery? Thank you!

Answer: Chin liposuction recovery The procedure is generally very well tolerated. If you elect for general anesthesia then that carries its own downtime for the first day or so. Liposuction alone, however, can often be done with light sedation or local anesthesia. You can expect some moderate swelling and bruising that will last for about a week or so. The incisions are usually tiny and heal well. The result will continue to improve over several months as the skin contracts during healing. Good luck!

Answer: Chin Liposuction Hello,Chin liposuction is one of the more popular procedures with male patients. Surgery to reduce a double chin often takes one hour or less in experienced hands. An in-person consultation is required, of course, in order to fully assess you but video consultation and/or photos in multiple angles can be helpful to give general guidance on options. The determination of whether to do just lipo or consider tightening the muscle, addressing the chin itself with an implant or other techniques depends on a variety of factors, including projection of the bony part of the chin, muscle looseness/bands, skin looseness, fat excess, and nasal projection. Many of the respondents here are highly qualified plastic surgeons here in southern California (including myself). Visit our websites and learn more.
