Can diced cartilage that was added to a radix be removed in revision rhinoplasty? (Photo)

Hello, during my primary, my Dr added diced cartilage to my radix and a little above it. Now my nose looks very weird with almost a flat nasofrontal area. Is it possible to remove the diced cartilage and how soon after first surgery. My surgeon did not file my nasal bones in this area but brought them him to create a more narrow nose.

Yes, the diced cartilage can be removed with a revision rhinoplasty procedure. Other changes to the nose can also be performed to change the shape of the nose, but it is important to wait at least one year after the initial rhinoplasty procedure. A chin implant would also help with facial balance and proportions.

It is possible to removed diced cartilage in a revision surgery along with any additional changes you want to create a more natural and softened appearance.  However, the best recommendation is to consult with a board certified specialist who can help you achieve the results you seek. 3-dimensional computer imaging can also help you visualize what you may look like afterwards and serve as an important communication tool with your surgeon.

Dear Rih Rih,  I have seen your earlier posts in 2014 under Love656 and from 5/01/15 with the same photographs posted today under Rih Rih? I am assuming you are the same patient and have perhaps changed your profile? Regardless of that the answer to your question is that yes revision surgery may improve this and the graft may be removed. I would at this time follow up with your surgeon and discuss your concerns and he/she may then discuss your options with you. If you do decide on revision surgery in the future I would also discuss the possibilities of a chin augmentation to help balance out your profile and overall facial aesthetics. Yes, the diced cartilage can be removed. Timing will depend on when you had the original surgery and what was done. A copy of your original pictures and operative report will be helpful.
