Alar base reduction and raising tip good enough?

Rhinoplasty is about achieving a well balanced and beautiful nose. The harmony of the nose has to be maintained after rhinoplasty. Although sometimes we focus on one area that require most of the adjustment, every part of the bone has to be adjusted to ensure a well balanced result. For you, the bridge, the nostrils and the tip all need a little a bit of refinement. In a consultation, this can be discussed in detail and you get an idea of what needs to be done. Best wishes.

Improving the nostril width and refining the nasal tip to achieve an improved natural appearing cosmetic result are frequent requests of patients wanting nasal refinement. It is possible to improve the cosmetic appearance of the tip alone without altering the rest of the nose in some patients. Whether the optimal option in your particular situation would be a tip rhinoplasty alone or a full rhinoplasty would best be determined at a consultation. Either procedure can be performed with a closed or open approach. 

Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.

Thank you for your photos. Narrowing the nostrils/alar base and raising the tip can add elegance and refinement to the nose. It is best to have an in-office examination to determine the functional and aesthetics properties of your nose. Sometimes when you change the base and tip, you may wish to do additional changes to the bridge of the nose to improvement the proportions and overall shape of the nose.  A full set of facial  Photographs are required to make a determination about specific surgical procedures accomplished during a rhinoplasty procedure, because the nose is a three-dimensional structure and rhinoplasty is performed in three dimensions. Digital computer imaging performed on your nose would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with the procedure. From the photos, it looks like an alar base reduction would be an excellent choice. Raising or projecting the nasal tip would give to a better result. It was hard to tell whether you would want the nasal tip width reduced. Get imaged with you surgeon so that he + you can have a specific game plan before surgery

It appears from your photos that you would benefit much more and likely be happier with the result of changes in not only your alar base and tip, but your profile and your bridge.  Your bridge can be improved without a radical change and be left looking natural and unoperated upon.

Your nose can be improved with alar base reduction and tip refinement but it is important to have a balanced natural result after surgery. Your pictures do suggest that you have fullness of your profile and increase width of your bridge. I suggest you consult with an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon to discuss your options. Online review the results in patients with noses like yours before choosing the surgeons you want to see.
