Can my V-shaped butt be corrected? (photos)

Question

Hi, i was wondering if my V-shaped butt can be corrected. I would also like to know what shape can I have, laterals, hips, or both. Also if a bubble butt or slope butt will be my outcome. My butt is very soft and im able to grab it and pinch it. The only tight part of my skin is the hip area. Since my hip area is tight I was wondering would laterals be more realistic. I am 5'7" 180lbs, I am currently loosing weight my goal before my surgery is 160-170lbs. Thanks in advance!

Hello @bfortson1, thank you for your question. I believe it is important to keep in mind that BBL, which in my opinion is best performed through a liposculture procedure and then fat transfer to glutes, enhances the contours of the body. It also improves proportionality across the body. However does not alter bone structure. In order to improve proportion, it is possible to remove fat accumulations that do not correspond with the symmetry of the body. Thanks to the latest surgical techniques and technologies, we can achieve an adequate result. Having an adequate gluteal projection and an appropriate relationship with hip and waist. I generally do not engage in the descriptive terms many people use to describe body shape or buttocks.
My goal obviously after listening to my patients wishes is generally to create a smooth continuous accentuated S-curve on the posterior and posterior lateral aspect of a female body that starts from the armpit and finishes at the knees.
By envisioning the S-curve you can follow the contour of someone’s body and quickly realize what areas show deficit and what areas show access. Areas that need volume to create an ideal S-curve required grafting fat in areas that have excess volume are treated with Liposuction.
Areas that have very little current soft tissue such as the area over the hip dips like sufficient host tissue to allow successful high-volume fat grafting with a single session.
All of this is part of an assessment that is done during an in person consultation.
At that time patients can share what they hope to achieve and I intern can tell them what I can and cannot accomplish using liposuction and fat grafting.
Some people are good candidates for the procedure and some people are not. The BBL is also two procedures done at the same time so candidacy needs to be broken down into candidacy for liposuction and candidacy for fat transfer.
Someone can be a good candidate for fat transfer but not a good candidate for Liposuction or vice versa.
Generally speaking ideal candidate for this procedure have enough fat to be able to do a quality fat transfer but are not obese. Ideal candidate should have tight skin with good elasticity. cellulite tends to be a negative attribute that can be made worse by drafting fat.
The ability to deliver a consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer result is more difficult than most people believe. There is substantial difference among different providers and patients should understand finding the right provider takes a substantial amount of effort in numerous in person consultations.
The first goal in the process is to get an accurate assessment at which time you’ll have a good understanding what type of results you can expect. that should be done by first examining the patient and then reviewing lots of before and after pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your own so both you and the surgeon have a clear understanding of what can and cannot be accomplished with the procedure.
For example, in your case you have skin laxity of your lower back showing the skin folds. those skinfolds are present despite having our arms in an up position. Typically when we raise our arms we lift the skin on the torso and contour improves. If you put your arms down you’ll probably show evidence of slightly more skin laxity.
Skin laxity is not treated with Liposuction and you should expect those skinfolds to possibly still be present after the procedure.
I recommend operations considering this procedure have multiple in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who seem to have experience with the BBL procedure.
I recommend patient locations whenever possible.
I also highly recommend people avoid to travel long distances for elective surgical procedures.
During each consultation ask each provider to open their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before and after pictures for the procedure you’re interested in.
Ask providers to show you exclusively pictures of previous patients who have similar body characteristics to your own.
There’s no point in seeing results from other patients who were ideal candidate for the BBL if you are not.
Candidacy is not a yes or no black or white but rather a spectrum.
The goal is to see results of previous patients who had fairly similar body characteristics to your own.
Ask providers examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and outcomes that didn’t turn out as well as they had hoped for.
Providers are generally going to show you pre-selected pictures representing the best results of their career unless asked otherwise. For reference an experienced surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures.
I recommend having pictures taken of your body the same way plastic surgeons take before and after pictures and bring copies of those pictures with you for reference during any consultation. Start by scheduling five consultations and consider schedule anymore unless you feel very comfortable you found the right provider.
Results very dramatically based on who does the procedure.
The number of plastic surgeons who can consistently deliver top quality liposuction and fat transfer on a consistent predictable basis is relatively low.
The results of this procedure are permanent and irreversible.
Patient should be very careful in choosing the provider and the selection process should require numerous consultations.
Five consultations may be sufficient but some people may need to consult with more providers than that.
In the end patient candidacy and surgeons skill are the two variables that matter most.
