Only your nephrologist can determine if the surgical risk associated with stage 3 chronic kidney disease would be recommended for elective surgery. The extent of renal impairment and the use of dialysis, among other factors, also affect outcome and subsequent morbidity.
Any elective surgery, including cosmetic surgery, should be carefully considered in patient with stage 3 kidney failure. A team consisting of internist, nephrologist and plastic surgeon should carefully evaluate the risks involved and inform you about risks and benefits.
Thank you for your question. It's important to talk to your nephrologist and get clearance. But as a general recommendation, being that plastic surgery is elective, you should be completely healthy before considering it.
Dear virtuesweet, you should be healthy prior to any elective procedure. You will need to get a clearance from your nephrologist prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Please talk to your nephrologist to get clearance for plastic surgery and then I suggest you to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
In my practice, I would have you get clearance from your nephrologist. If they feel it is safe, then I would move forward with your surgery. What I will say is patients experience a lot of swelling post op associated with the aggressive liposuction. This would likely be worse if your kidneys are not functioning properly. We usually use a strong "water" pill to help you get rid of the swelling, but this medication is hard on the kidneys, so with kidney disease this would not be safe.
this question it should go to your nephrologist. There are lots of variables but I would definitely not to risk worsening of kidney disease for a cosmetic procedure. If they think your kidneys are stable and will not take a hit from this procedure then conceivably it’s possible to move forward.Plastic surgeons are not kidney doctors so check with the ones who are more equipped to make the decision or steer you in the right directionBest, Mats Hagstrom, MD

You should be a good candidate for lipo and BBL. Fat can be taken from many different areas (abdomen, sides, back, bra rolls, thighs, arms, etc) depending upon the areas of excess and what your goals may be. Most patients get an immense benefit with maximal liposuction of the abdomen, side...
Thank you for your question. It is possible and safe to have both procedure combine, but if you want to do it separate you need to wait until you are fully healed. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results....
It is safe to take arnica before and after surgery. It will help decrease post-op bruising. Bromelain will help with post-op swelling. You will want avoid anything that may be considered a mild blood thinner such as aspirin or any other non steroidal. Ask your surgeon for a list of specific su...
It usually takes between 200 and 400 cc per hip to achieve an improvement. I do this all the time with the BBL and lipo cases. Find a board certified PS who performs hundreds of lipo and fat grafting procedures each year. Then look at the PS's website before and after photo galleries to get...
Suggest you phone your plastic surgeon's office immediately. Your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist will make the decision regarding whether postponement is necessary.
