Was your Sjogren's Syndrome (SS) diagnosed as a primary (dry eye and dry mouth that is not associated with another autoimmune disorder) or secondary? You should let your anesthesiologist know of your diagnosis as SS can increase the risks of general anesthesia. If aware of the diagnosis of your SS, the anesthesiologist can take special measures to lower the risks of these complications. Your rheumatologist must provide clearance and your medical history to your board certified PS so that he/she can determine if he/she thinks lipo and a BBL would be safe.
Dear cassienichole7,if your condition is well controlled, you might be a candidate for a surgery. You might need to get a clearance from your doctor prior to surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Please talk to your primary doctor to get clearance for plastic surgery and then I suggest you to book a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for your goals.Hope this is helpful. Good luck :)
Usually the only issue with this condition is waking up with sore eyes or possibly corneal abrasion‘s sore throat, dry mouth which should all be managed during surgery by the anesthesiologist. If general anesthesia is not used then this shouldn’t be too much of an issue. it’s possible the anesthesiologist may have some thoughts or questions but I think it’s mostly related to symptoms where fluid production is decreased that can cause the symptoms described above. It’s possible a plastic surgeon may ask for medical clearance from your primary care doctor or a rheumatologist..you can still move forward and have a few in person consultations to see if you’re a good candidate for the BBL in the first place.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
You should be a good candidate for lipo and BBL. Fat can be taken from many different areas (abdomen, sides, back, bra rolls, thighs, arms, etc) depending upon the areas of excess and what your goals may be. Most patients get an immense benefit with maximal liposuction of the abdomen, side...
Thank you for your question. It is possible and safe to have both procedure combine, but if you want to do it separate you need to wait until you are fully healed. I would suggest to be treated by board certified plastic surgeon with experience in this procedure, to get the best desired results....
It is safe to take arnica before and after surgery. It will help decrease post-op bruising. Bromelain will help with post-op swelling. You will want avoid anything that may be considered a mild blood thinner such as aspirin or any other non steroidal. Ask your surgeon for a list of specific su...
It usually takes between 200 and 400 cc per hip to achieve an improvement. I do this all the time with the BBL and lipo cases. Find a board certified PS who performs hundreds of lipo and fat grafting procedures each year. Then look at the PS's website before and after photo galleries to get...
Suggest you phone your plastic surgeon's office immediately. Your plastic surgeon and anesthesiologist will make the decision regarding whether postponement is necessary.
Hello, thank you for your question. Your board certified plastic surgeon will require a medical clearance from your specialist. Schedule an email, Skype or in-person consultation.
