Liposuction can be done anytime on healthy patients. If you have been dieting and exercising and are at a plateau, then lipo will be great to do now and help get you going again.
Hello, and thank you for your question. Based on your height and weight, I recommend losing weight prior to having surgery. Your weight should also be stable for a few months prior to elective surgery. Liposuction only removes subcutaneous fat, and based on your BMI, I think you would be dissatisfied with liposuction. Subcutaneous fat is the fat you can "pinch." Any fat on the organs, beneath the skin, is not removed with liposuction. After massive weight loss, many patients have excess skin, and cosmetic surgery is a great answer for them as we can remove fat and skin at the same time. Best of luck.
Hello and thank you for the question. Based on your height and weight, your BMI is 48. You should be less than 30-35 prior to considering plastic surgery. I would start by consulting a weight loss specialist. I would also consider seeing a bariatric surgeon for weight-loss surgery. Best,Pejman Aflaki, M.D.Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon
jaepark. Diet and exercise is really your best first option because you should try to get your BMI as close to 30 as possible prior to considering liposuction. You will get a far better result and be much safer having the procedure after some weight loss. It’s something I know that you can accomplish, best of luck.
I would recommend you lose weight first before you have cosmetic surgery for a better result, always see aboard certified PS.
You need to lose weight first before undergoing any cosmetic procedure to get the best outcome. For best results, it is recommended to be at your ideal or stable weight before getting a sculpting liposuction procedure. Liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, rather it is for sculpting and defining and removing problem areas that cannot be removed with weight loss and diet / exercise alone. With skin laxity, a tummy tuck or lifting procedure could be performed at the same time. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a bariatric doctor or dietitian. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, liposuction is not a weight loss procedure. At your weight, you are at risk for serious health problems. I would recommend you consider spending your money on bariatric surgery first. Then after you lose the weight, you can proceed with body contouring procedures. Good luck.
Your BMI is too high to have liposuction and you would be better off to have bariatric surgery and then after weight loss undergo body contouring for removal of excess skin that can sometimes occur after a bariatric procedure. Liposuction is for contouring and not for global fat removal and weight loss. With your current weight it would be dangerous.
For liposuction, an elective procedure, you should be in good health. I would suggest meeting with a board certified plastic surgeon, being examined, and discussing your concerns and options. You may get very good results with liposuction. Do remember that liposuction is not weight loss surgery, but for specific stubborn areas of fat.
