I'm one month post-op, and the skin actually looks slightly worse now than it did after surgery. Is this part of the normal process? I have recently started back to working out, and perhaps this is the reason for the change?
Answer: Too early to worry. Dani. I appreciate your concern, but it may take as long as 4 to 6 months for complete recovery, meaning resolution of all swelling and skin retraction. Try to stay patient and follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Answer: How long does skin usually take to tighten up after liposuction? Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction is usually pretty straight forward. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. With liposuction, fat can be removed to strategically sculpt the body and accentuate feminine curves. The skin then retracts over the new shape to give the final result.

Answer: Liposuction Results & After care includes RF treatments (Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra) Cellutone/zwave, hyperbaric oxygen It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Liposuction I rarely suction an abdomen, and never suction an abdomen in a woman who has been pregnant, because the skin is thin and may not "tighten up". I would not be overly concerned , as it will take a minimum of 3 months to get your results, and I suspect then everything will be better. Good luck, Greg Sexton, M.D.
