Yes, this can be typical. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. Tender nodules, lumps and bumps are very normal during the first 4-6 weeks after liposuction.  These are areas of swelling.   With time, these areas should go away.  To expedite the resolution, lymphatic massage, hydrating and wearing the compression can help.   If nodules persist, they could be small areas of fat or areas that need to be treated with steroid injections.   Give it time, lymphatic massage is never a bad idea.  Best of luck.

Fiorella. The hard lumps that you are describing appear to be normal scar tissue present after liposuction. I also am not a fan of lymphatic massage, as it is extremely painful and efficacy has never been proven. Save your money and gently massage the areas yourself with moisturizer cream on a daily basis and try to stay patient as these lumps should resolve with time. Early lumpiness is not uncommon after liposuction, representing localized areas of increased inflammation. If not severe, it will usually resolve with time. Gentle massage may be of benefit. If severe, we recommend the use of lipo-x or other non-surgical modality to hasten resolution of the process.

Some minor lumps are liposuction are quite common, and most go away over time. There is no great data either way for lymphatic massage, but some surgeons will recommend patients perform gently 5-10 minute manual massage themselves at the post op 3 week mark if lumps are still present to help them dissipate faster.
