Answer: Botox for Masseter Correction Thank you for your question. Botox should have no effect on the fat in your face as it is targeting the masseter muscle. You may notice slimming of the muscle which is probably what you are confusing with fat loss. As far as becoming very pale and experiencing sickness for 3 months, that is not related to the Botox and you should follow up with your primary care doctor as soon as possible for treatment. Fortunately, the botox is not permanent and wears off in 3-4 months. After another 3 months or so, you will notice the size of your masseters return to normal. Always consult an experienced injector prior to injecting.

Answer: Masseter Botox Botox does not affect facial fat. In regards to you appearing pale, I would definitely consult a physician for further examination. Botox to the Masseter muscle usually peaks at 3-4 months and the muscle should gradually rebuild to its' original size after this time. I would consider discussing these concerns with your injector, because filler may be able to be used to address any residual concerns you may have. Good luck! Sarah RN BSN

Answer: Botox does not melt fat Botox to the jaw will weaken the masseters muscles, and in about 3 months is when patients see their face look the slimmest. However, when too much botox is injected it can cause the patients' face to look hollow with slight jowling, because you lose the support that originally held up your tissues. Perhaps the hollowness and lack of structure is causing your face to look a little too thin. Luckily, botox is temporary and the muscle will gradually regain its strength and should grow back to its original size within a year or two. Chase Lay, MD

Answer: Botox masseter injection with fat loss? Please see your general physician for why you may look pale as Botox will not cause this symptom. The enlarged masseter muscle will shrink temporarily with botox injection, slimming the face. Muscle size will return in about six months without any subsequent botox injections. Facial fat is unaffected by botox.
