Botox won't decrease the fullness or double chin under the neck. It can reduce some of the vertical platysmal muscle bands which are not present in many patients who have a double chin. Fat accumulation or loose skin under the neck is better treated with CoolSculpting, SculpSure, ThermiTight etc.
Thank you for your question.Botox wouldn't really be helpful here.Sounds like you may benefit from some tightening or fat reduction. How you do that is up to your personal preference. There are surgical or non-surgical methods. It sounds like your condition is mild to moderate, something like ultherapy or non-invasive methods of fat reduction may be something to consider.Hope this helps.
No, I don't recommend Botox for this. Both Kybella or neck liposuction are good options and will improve the double chin. It depends on your lifestyle and personality which would be better for you. Kybella is best for patients that:1) Do not want surgery 2) Are not surgical candidates 3) Not willing to wear a compression dressing around the face for 1 week 4) Patient- The results of Kybella will take monthsKybella take 1-3 treatments every 6 weeks. Patient will develop swelling and possible bruising after each injection that may last a few days. The benefit of Kybella is each treatment is quick and completed in the office. However, some patients need more than one treatment to get desired results. Neck Liposuction is best for patients that:1) Want a single treatment 2) One recovery time- Downtime for neck liposuction require wearing a wrap around face for 1 week. 3) Less painful 4) Quicker results 5) Cost is a concernNeck liposuction is a quick surgical procedure that can be complete while the patient is awake. It cost around the same price a Kybella and can be less in patients with heavier necks. The single recovery of neck liposuction may be a better option for some patients.
Hi!Botox works by relaxing the muscles of facial expressionSounds like your issue is due to excess skin or skin laxityYou may wish to consider a non surgical skin tightening treatment such as RF microneedling or Ultherapy
Botox relaxes the muscles and does nothing for fat deposits or excess skin. It can smooth out any wrinkles you might have around the neck area but there are other options for removing excess fat. Liposuction or non-surgical options like Kybella can help create a more sculpted look to eliminate the appearance of a double chin.
Botox would not be used for this area. Depending on consultation, sounds like Kybella or SculpSure for the neck would be a good treatment.
Hello mb.x - Everyone has unique expressions. We move our facial muscles in a repetitive way and over time those repetitive movements cause wrinkles and fine lines. When you start to experience the signs of aging, Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin are available to diminish unwanted wrinkles and creases in your face.Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within two to four days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months.Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin be used to improve:Worry lines in your forehead Lines between the eyebrows Smile lines Laugh lines from nose to mouth Crow’s feetNext step for you is to schedule a consultation with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss your options and goal. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question mb.x. I understand your concern. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. When injected into the skin Botox will relax the muscles and smoothen out the overlying wrinkles. The most common areas of treatment are in the upper face. These include the horizontal lines seen on the upper forehead when one raises the brows, the vertical lines seen between the brows when one frowns (frown lines), and the crow's feet seen around the eyes when one smiles. It is difficult to make an assessment without a formal exam in the office where I can view the skin in multiple angles and observe wrinkles formed with facial expression. However, I hope the information provided here is useful. While Botox is most commonly used in the upper face, it can also be used in various areas in the lower face. Botox can be placed in the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscle to elevate downturned corners of the mouth which sometimes produce a sad face appearance. In this area 2-4 units are used per side. Botox can be placed in the mentalis muscle on the chin to address a cobblestone appearance or dimpling on the chin. In this area 2-8 units of Botox are used. Botox can be placed just under the jawline in what is called the Nefertiti lift to relax the platysma muscle which pulls down on the lower face, thereby improving jawline definition. When placed lower in the neck Botox can address vertical neck bands. Approximately 10 units are used below each jaw and in each band. For the area under the chin, treatments such as Kybella and laser skin tightening can help improve the jawline definition. If I had a patient with a concerns such as that described here I would recommend that she visit a physician for a formal exam and assessment for appropriate recommendations. With any injection, there are risks such as pain, bleeding, bruising, redness, swelling, tenderness, and infection. We take special precautions to minimize these risks such as using a painless technique. We also treat bruises with a laser as early as the next day. Bruises usually resolve within two weeks if untreated. After a laser treatment bruises usually resolve in 1-3 days, but may still take two weeks for full resolution. In addition to these risks, with Botox there is also a risk that the product spreads or diffuses to nearby structures. Spread to nearby muscles can lead to side effects such as the temporary appearance of droopy eyelids or a temporary asymmetric smile. After a Botox treatment, I recommend that my patients avoid heat exposure, alcohol consumption, and strenuous exercise for 24 hours and not lie down flat for four hours. This is because all of these activities may possibly lead to the movement of the product and consequent side effects such as droopy eyelids. Although there have been no definitive studies shown that these actually occur and some physicians do not provide such aftercare instructions, in the absence of data I err on the side of caution and recommend that my patients avoid such activities. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Botox is not used to help with fat reduction. It only works for fine lines and wrinkles due to muscle movement. I would suggest researching either Kybella, which helps with fat reduction under the chin and also helps tighten the skin. You can also research Coolsculpting for the chin are if the extra tissue is your concern. Best of luck to you.
