There are different types of neuromodulators: Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and you can change types for your touch-up. It will take 1-2 weeks for your final results after your touch-up. Hope this helps.
Dear mb.x,There are different types of neuromodulators - Botox, Dysport, Xeomin to name a few. They have different drug behaviours and dilution profiles so they are not all the same. In my practice, I do use different types of neuromodulators, but I usually use the same type for the same patient. However, there is no contraindication to use a different type for a touch up. Speak to your doctor and have a in person discussion on what you desire as an endpoint. I hope this answers your question. Have a great week ahead and all the best!Dr. Terence GohPlastic Surgeon, Singapore
Hi,Currently in the US, there is only 1 type of botox but it belongs to a group of drugs called neuromodulators. The two other are dysport and xeomin. It is okay to use the other neuromodulators instead of botox. Best,
There is no clear answer to this as most studies have used the same kind of botulinium toxin throughoutIn theory it should be ok!
Thank you for your question! In the US there are 3 different neuromodulators; Xeomin, Botox and Dysport. You do not have to use Botox for your touch up. You can use any neuromodulator and to get the same effect. Best of luck!
Dear mb.x,This is a good question. In all honesty, there is no difference in using a different brand / type of neuromodulator for a touch up. Just like there are many moisturiser brands, we tend to stick with those our skin is used to. Though it is perfectly alright to switch brands.Hope this helps.Dr Daniel Chang
There is no reason you cannot choose to use another brand of botulism toxin. It will not affect the results. There are more than seven brands in the world, depending on which country you are in. Some better researched clinically than the other. All of them are botulism toxin type A.However, there are differences between the brands, some more than the others. Make sure your injector is knowledgeable and experienced. An ethical and professional injector should always tell you and be able to explain to you which brand and dosage used. Do not fall for bait and switch.Lastly, I am curious why choosing another brand?
Good question! you can get touch up with any of the FDA approved nerve toxins such as Botox, Xeomin or Dysport with similar effect.
Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 5-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. You do not have to use same neuromodulators for a touchup. It is best that you follow up with your injector to discuss your options and goals. Best wishes.

Ideally, you shouldn’t lie down after Botox, mostly because you want to avoid swelling and bruising by increasing blood flow to the injection areas. However, Botox tends to settle into the muscle within minutes. It’s highly unlikely that the Botox would migrate hours later. It takes about two...
Thanks for your question. Though probably safe, I personally do not attend botox parties especially when wine or alcohol are involved. To decrease the risk of bruising I think it's most important to remind your friends to avoid blood thinners like aspirin, advil, etc for ten days if possible. C...
Thank you for your question! I am sorry to say botox would not help with your issue. Evaluation by a plastic surgeon would be the best option. Best of luck!
