I am a 79 year old male with some sun damage of the face. Rather than have CO2 laser with down time I choose Fraxor. My cheeks were very wrinkled with cross hatches (alligator skin). the fraxor worked exceedingly well with almost no down time. the numbing cream worked very well. His post op skin care creams helped a lot.
I have been a patient of dr. dannaker for the last 10 years, for botox, fillers and fraxel treatments,i was always very satisfied,2 month ago i had liposuction done on my neck by an other dr. which left my skin loose and wrinkled,dr.dannaker treated my neck several times with fraxor radio frequency, which improved my neck amazingly right away, thank you dr. dannaker!
Dr Dannaker has proven to be a master craftsman at sculpting my 60 year old face. He studied my problem spotsand iscussed options for the outcome I desired. I look so much better. I feel better. Dr. Dannaker turned back my clock by at least 20 years. I am extremely grateful to Dr Dannaker for being masterful artist that he is.
I was under treatment for wrinkles and acne scars, you can see my pics (under request). It was increible, just one week and now I look fantastic. I think that the results depend not just in the laser, is an experienced physician the one that can give you the confidence and efectivness.
Had fraxel restore done 3 times above my upper lip. Last one 3 months ago. Big mistake. Now my skin is wrinkled and blotchy with dark spots developing. I saw the doctor 9 weeks after and he basically told me to go live my life and don't become obsessed by it. Easy for him to say. This has ruined my self confidence and I will be starting therapy soon to try to cope with this. The office never called me to ask how I was doing post any of the treatments. I had to ask for post procedure instructions. I am hoping that time will help heal. I only use Bare Minerals skin care and make up and I do use Obagi medical hydrate cream . I went to him because he is a well known dermatologist who does all the procedures himself. So I felt like I was in good hands.
You likely have genetic flushing, or rosacea (some feel they are. one in the same). Sensitive skin is typical. Your genetic background does not preclude this possible diagnosis. Sometimes concomitant allergy or irritation from topical products such as moisturizers, sunscreens or even hair care products can exacerbate the condition. Occasionally persistent facial redness can be. a form of sun sensitivity. Please see an expert board certified medical dermatologist who can properly evaluate you before considering treatments other than medical such as IPL (intense pulsed light), PDL (pulsed dye laser) or other cosmetic treatments for facial redness.
From your photograph, there appears to be acne related scars (small irregularities in the skin surface). Your redness is not well represented in the picture but if it is flushing. and not course. blood vessels, you may have genetic flushing. Other diagnoses such as allergic contact dermatitis and rosacea are also possibilities. Large pores are typically genetic and can be improved but not eliminated with present technology. You should first have a dermatologic consultation from an expert. Sometimes medical management (oral and. topical) can help flushing/rosacea. If dermatitis is present, patch testing may be indicated. Once these issue are evaluated, treatment with non-ablative (non wounding) lasers such as Fraxel restore and/or radio frequency micro needling will help with the RF micro needling having the advantage of helping a bit with the redness and shrinking the oil glands enough to perhaps improve the enlarged pores. Topical are somewhat helpful in the long term as a way to slightly improve procedure results. Please see an expert medical dermatologist and only. seek treatment from a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to ensure you have been evaluated properly.
Your brows are low in the picture, with excess upper eyelid skin and an asymetrical brow ( left brow is higher). You are likely a candidate for surgical removal of the upper eyelid skin and possibly a forehead lift. If the wedding is eminent, a non surgical approach with Botox will typically elevate your brow 1-2 mm within 2 1/2 weeks and can make for a noticeable improvement. For patients adverse to surgery co2 laser resurfacing of the upper eyelids with judicious injection of filler into the brow can help. However, if the wedding is in less than a month I would advise you to consider deferring treatment. Always see a specialist who not only experienced but board certified by the american board of dermatology or the american board of plastic surgery.
It is unusual enough when an appropriate patient (skin color, hair diameter, hair color) is treated with modern laser technology to fail treatment that one must question: 1. The accuracy of the patient's perceptions. (did they complete at least 3-4 treatments to reach 50% reduction?) 2. The settings on the machine (was a paramedical or non core physician the one determining the settings?) 3. Was the hair dark and course enough? 4. Does the patient have an endocrinopathy (such as PCOS) that will result in LHR being laser hair control and require maintenance treatments.
Always seek out a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for these cosmetic procedures. Sculptra is provided as a sterile powder and must be dissolved in sterile water. Typically for the face a minimum of 6-7 cc of diluent is used (this may include lidocaine) per vial. Years ago in the early 2000's when the product was introduced, a more concentrated 4cc dilution was recommended but this was subsequently discovered to be too concentrated and resulted in occasional complications. Assuming you observed correctly and 4 vials were used, then 8X 6cc/syringe appears to be 12cc a vial. It is more likely these were 3cc syringes or 6cc a vial dilution (4 vials/24cc) which is the lower limit of dilution and is probably fine. 12cc/vial is a bit dilute and if this is the case and you received 48 cc into your face and still looked reasonably normal, they you are probably not a candidate for Sculptra and should consider fat transfer instead. Even if it's 24cc of water injected that was injected into your face, that is a lot of volume, suggesting your facial volume loss may be profound. Injecting 4 vials for a single session to the face is less typical. These issues should be clearly discussed with you and if you were treated by a core physician (plastic surgery, dermatology, head and neck surgeon) I'm sure they would want to discuss your concerns one on one.
