Hi. I had 5mm Permalip implants placed into both of my lips two weeks ago. The swelling seems to be completely gone. From the side they look horrific. Especially the top lip. I can feel part of the implant sitting above the border on my top lip. (Especially near the sides.) was this implant too big for my upper lip? Could it be realigned to not look so duck like? Could it still be swelling?(very doubtful if that since I can feel the implant sitting above the lip.) what should I do? Pleas help.:(
Answer: You are likely still swollen but, yes, this implant is ridiculous. This implant will probably need to be removed. Do yourself a favor and invest two months to let the upper lip settle down before making this decision. Communicate in a nonthreatening way with your surgeon so they understand that you are concerned about the lip. My guess is that you will need this implant removed. I hate these.

Answer: Lip Implants Issue Bunnylovee. I am sorry you are having this issue, however you probably are still swollen from the surgery and I would wait at least another 2 to 4 weeks to allow complete resolution. I have never been a fan of permanent limp implants for reasons you describe, as they can look somewhat fake and be uncomfortable, especially when kissing. Worst case scenario, you can always have them removed under local anesthesia if you hate the look and/or feel. However wait at least a few more weeks to allow all swelling to subside and possibly allow yourself to become more comfortable with them. Good luck.

Answer: Filler vs Implant for Lip augmentation Most plastic surgeons will recommend waiting until swelling resolves before considering revision lip procedure. Removing the lip implant is an option for those who are still not satisfied with the appearance. If you haven't already, then speak with your plastic surgeon regarding any concerns you have. Answer: What can be done to improve lips after Permalip implant? Implants in lips have a very high removal rate. Many people aren't happy with them. They don't move normally and they are hard to fine tune. It is possible there still is swelling and I would wait another month before deciding about them. More than likely, you will decide to remove them IMO. Consider microfat injections for more lasting lip filler.
