Hardness in lips after filler. It will not allow me to move my lips in certain ways such as a “kiss” pout. Will this go away?

Thank you for your question!  It usually takes some time after treatment for the hardness to go away.  If at this point your lips aren't flexible I would suggest following up with your injector.  Best regards! 

lilpeachy. I appreciate your concern, however it is quite common to have swelling after this procedure creating symptoms similar to the ones you are describing. Try to stay patient and follow up with your injector if the symptoms persist more than 1 to 2 weeks. Good luck.

Dear lilpeachy,dermal fillers have a significant swelling post injection. I would follow up with you plastic surgeon but typically I tell all my patients to wait a full two weeks.  Generally at 2 weeks they are happy and glad they didn't dissolve.  Dissolving is unpredictable as well.Daniel Barrett, MD

I would wait it out another week or so and it should get better. I rarely inject 2cc at one time because it takes longer to get over swelling. It it doesn’t improve, remove some with hyaluronidase. 

Hello and thank you for the question.  Since you are only three days post-injection, it's not uncommon to still have slight swelling or tenderness at the injection site.  I would wait at least two weeks before returning to your injector for recheck.  If there is indeed a lump, they may be able to smooth it out with massage versus dissolving the product.
