I've lost weight from wls, Gastric Sleeve. I seem to have extra skin/fat on the sides of my boobs and under arms. Will having breast surgery take care of the problem or will I need skin removal?
Answer: Managing Loose Skin After Weight Loss Thanks for your question - the short answer is ... Maybe.Small amounts of excess skin in the lateral chest / "side boob" can sometimes be completely or partially addressed with breast surgery. Lifts and augmentations can take up some of the loose skin improving the contour. An augmentation on its own can mask some of that unwanted tissue, making it less noticeable.Depending on how much weight was lost, where it was lost from and skin quality some degree of excision is often needed.A board certified Plastic Surgeon can help you decide on how best to manage it - breast surgery alone or in combination with brachioplasty /arm lift, upper back lift or lateral thoracoplasty.Good luck on your journey.

Answer: How to get rid of side boobs Getting rid of side boobs after weight loss will most likely involve an upper back lift. Sometimes, a breast lift can address these areas, but I would need to see you in consultation to give you a definite answer. Having working with many gastric sleeve and gastric bypass patients, excess skin is very common in the breast and flank areas. Upper back lifts, breast lift, and breast augmentation are wonderful ways of contouring these areas to achieve a much more aesthetic appearance. Thank you for your question!Dr. SchreiberBaltimore plastic surgeon

Answer: Side boobs depending on your present condition and desired results, you can achieve some improvement with breast surgery alone. You most likely need a lift, and all that needs to be done is to continue the inframammary incision on to the lateral chest. You need to be seen to give a better answer

Answer: Side breasts in weight loss patients. First of all let me congratulate you on your courage. I'm sure you love wearing cloths and carry a before photo of yourself (as I do) everywhere you go. But to answer your question an examination is needed. My favorite operation includes a breast lift with fat transfer to the upper pole of the breast along with an extended brachioplast (arm lift) that includes the side breasts, which I call bat wings. See a board certified plastic surgeon who has done a ton of weight loss patients, and have her (or him) connect you to a patient who had a similar operation. You will get a better answer from a patient than from any doctor, because expectations are key. Choose your surgeon carefully and good luck. You have taken the initial courageous step, now go for your dream result and do your homework. Don't rush in and don't decide without seeing many surgeons and liking thier staff.

Answer: Side breast If you have lost a lot of weight, it is most likely skin and fat rolls that is giving you fullness laterally. Hard to say without at least photos.
