I had a reduction mammoplasty procedure last year. Age: 59; height: 5’6; weight: 161 lbs; BMI: 26.79; BSA: 1.83. He removed roughly 750 gms from each side. I’m left with such a small amount that I can’t even fill an A cup! What are your thoughts? How do I make sense of what he did and why he did it?
Answer: Breast reduction Thanks for your question! Your PS may have taken that amount because of insurance requirements. I would suggest following up with your surgeon and asking why he took what he did. There are always options for revision if you'd like to add a little more volume. Good luck!

Answer: Breast reduction I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your surgeon. The amount to be removed is typically discussed with the patient prior to surgery as well as general expected results. If your reduction was covered by your insurance company, they may have determined the minimum that had to be removed for coverage.

Answer: Breast reduction Thank you for your question. In my opinion, your surgeon did a good job. Only thing I can advice is to remove fat from your belly with liposuction and add it to your breasts to make them fuller. Fat transfer will help you tremendously. Best wishes.

Answer: Breast Reduction Hi there, Thanks for your photos and question. I think what you are looking for is more volume up top, which would involve the additional of a breast implant. Unfortunetly during mastopexy (breast reduction) the surgeon can only work with the tissue you have available. At this stage if you are looking for a larger cup size and fullness I would reccomend an implant. I hope that helps!

Answer: 1 year after breast reduction. Did my surgeon make what I feel to be a big mistake? Hello @Jaylynn21, thank you for your question. I believe there is room for improvement in this area. It would be beneficial to undergo 360 liposculture and breast fat transfer in order to enhance the upper pole of the breast. As for the reason your surgeon's decision to perform the procedure in the manner he did is something that you should discuss with him. It is essential that you consult with a plastic surgeon who has experience with this procedure if you are considering breast revision surgery to ensure optimal results. Best wishes!
