Im 36 yrs old ive had three kids my last child is almost 2. Ive seen my surgeon and he wants to go the mini tuck way because i lead a very busy life but my husband has managed to take 2 months off of work so i am now considering doing a main tummy tuck. I am very active i work out regularly im very healthy and fit but my stomach just wont budge. Would a main tummy tuck suit me would it work and look good? Any opinions appreciated
Answer: Would a full Tummy Tuck suit me? Would it work and look good? Hello @Imaginative152960 thank you for your question and showing your pictures. As part of your surgical plan, you may want to consider a modified abdominoplasty where you can achieve a complete muscular application with a smaller scar, eliminating the diastasis entirely. For more information and recommendations, it is prudent to consult with one or several board certified plastic surgeons. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD, FACS.

Answer: Mini Tummy Tuck Hi. Mini Tummy Tuck (MTT) is suitable for patients with minimal excess skin below the umbilicus. In most instances after pregnancy there is significant skin excess which will require a standard abdominoplasty to be removed. Please note in a MTT if the Umbilicus is floated it results in a very low position which is often not aesthetic.

Answer: Considering options An in person evaluation is always best, but from your photos it appears you would be a good candidate for a standard tummy tuck. This would remove excess fat and skin as well as correct abdominal wall laxity that is common after pregnancy. The result would be a flatter, tighter tummy.

Answer: Full tummy tuck A full tummy tuck may be more suitable for you, since you appear to have some issues above your belly button as well as below.

Answer: Tummy Tuck & Liposuction Thank you for your questions and photos. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the options that best address your goals. Best of luck! Dhaval Patel MD Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Chicago South Barrington Oakbrook Orland Park
