Fractional laser is an amazing and highly effective treatment in our office. We use the laser treatment to help with acne scars, large pores, fine wrinkles, tissue collagen loss, scars, sebaceous hyperplasia, active acne, and for brightening dark pigmentation. Although there are very strong fractional lasers such as CO2 laser, we use lighter treatments for corrective skincare and maintenance of results. Our Thulium fractional laser, clear and brilliant laser, and Ultra Thulium laser are excellent options in our clinic. We also perform CO2 fractional and erbium depending on skin tone and tolerance for downtime. Patients do have to use a Melarase cream before and after treatment to help further reduce pigmentation after laser. Dark spots can improve with these treatments. I recommend fractional laser for incisional scars as well, especially after plastic surgery. Best,Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
Dear jill 95,I suggest consulting a local board certified facial plastic surgeon in-person to assist you in your decision-making. Examples of the mostcommon skin issues that are treated with laser skin resurfacing are as follows:removal of facial wrinkles, removal of deep lines around the mouth and eyes, treatment of facial scars, treatment of scarring related to acne, treatment ofareas of uneven skin pigmentation, removal of tattoos, and treatment ofprecancerous skin conditions.Sincerely,Ross A. Clevens, MD, FACS
As we age, facial wrinkles and creases begin to appear around the lips and skin as the underlying collagen and elastin fibers begin to break down and wear out. Dermal fillers are used to immediately restore youthfulness and volume to the face. Dermal fillers can be used to plump thin lips, remove wrinkles, soften facial creases, revolumize shallow contours and improve the appearance of recessed scars. At Cosmetic Laser Dermatology, we offer various dermal fillers, including: Juvedurm, Voluma, Restylane, and Belotero.
Thank you for yourquestion.Laser resurfacing is a great option for deep wrinkles around the mouth. To be sure what is best for you, see twoor more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation tomake sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to havetreatment.I hope this helps.
hello and thank you for this question. yes laser resurfacing can be an effective treatment for these changes. we prefer the co2 laser and must treat aggressively for best results. a good skin care program pre laser also helps, good luck.
Thanks for the questions, around the mouth lines tend to be the deepest but luckily the skin in that area can tolerate a lot of heat so yes laser will work, if you really want a big change I use dermabrasion for those
Yes.Laser resurfacing will work extremely well on deep lines around the mouth area. The type of laser is very important however. The gold standard continues to be the CO2 laser wavelength and must be performed by an experienced surgeon to effectively smooth deeply etched lines and wrinkles. The attached link provides more information.I hope this helps.
Hi and thanks for posting your photo. Fractional CO2 laser is a great modality to treat fine lines around the mouth. I believe light eyed and light skinned patients can even better laser candidates for this procedure.Best,
Laser resurfacing can be used to improve lines around the mouth. A photo of you or an exam would be needed to determine if you might be a good candidate for such a treatment.
Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing can improve lines and wrinkles, as well as improving the overall texture of the skin. It works well in combination with Botox and fillers.
Thank you for your question! Laser resurfacing has essentially replaced Dermabrasion for skin peeling. My only current indication for Dermabrasion is "traumatic tattooing" (eg- road rash with asphalt). I hope this helps!
Yes, you may apply the Noritate first and then your make-up. I agree that a mineral based powder is good. I have also found that a green and yellow tint make-up may also be helpful in neutralizing the red color.
This is not just dry skin. You have either rosacea or seborrheic dermatitis and would benefit from seeing a dermatologist. Once on the right treatment your skin will be so much easier to manage!
